Any sort of discussion about how science and laws of nature work on Marvel movies should be thrown out the window at least since Antman, with the objects that shrink but maintain their masses, unless the writers decide it would be better to contradict such rule previously stablished whenever it's needed for the story (Antman keeps his mass when he needs to hit bad guys, but loses it when he needs to fly on ants' backs... Pez dispenser that becomes super heavy when enlarged and thrown at people, building being shrunk and carried around effortlessly... And etc, etc.). Hey great video - sorry for this #GeekReply - here’s how the smell thing works: The olfactory nerve (wire that connects the nose to the brain for the sense of smell) comes right out of the brain to the nose through a flat bit of bone with lots of holes (like a sieve or colander) between the skull (where brain is encased) and the nose. This flat holy bone plate is called the cribriform plate. Before the nerve (think of it like a wire) passes through this plate it splits into loads of branches & each smaller nerve then passes through these little holes in the bone (kinda like roots of a tree underground). However this set up acts like a cheese grater if pushed forward slightly; bone is very hard & nerves are about as strong as cooked spaghetti. When we see people in the ER (or A&E if like me you’re from the UK 🇬🇧) one of the checks we do to people with nose / face trauma is ask how do they smell (insert joke about ‘hows your smell,,, terrible! 😛). But patients who damage this nerve can be left with reduced or total absence of the ability to smell (anosmia) & there’s nothing you can really do about it. The Uber-geek thing to do now would be to look through Avengers Infinity war & end game & see if Black Widow ever refers to smelling something as it’s irreparable. So it’s a real thing & out of all this film it’s one of the more believable bits 😆 .

About black widow... you might have liked it because it was an action-comedy movie. There was a fight scene like after every 5 mins with sprinkled sarcasms of Yelena. Atleast that's why I enjoyed it. But when I sit and think about it, it's the same damn generic marvel formula- hero fighting with villain having similar powers, a useless side villain, which in comics is a heavy hitter villain on it's own (and this pisses off the comic book nerds like me)and that's all I guess. One big problem with the movie was that it spent too much time trying to reunite Natasha and her family together. Instead of an action scene in Norway, have Natasha already in Budapest while trying to escape General Ross and Yelena goes to find her (as opposed to mailing vials to her), then have a 3-way chase scene, during which the two decide to take down the Red Room but need Melina's help to do so, which requires them to break out Alexeia from prison to know where she is. All of which could be done in the first 30 to 45 minutes, without wasting too much screen time. And another few issues I had was the location of the Red Room and the use of the villains. Instead of being a giant fortress in the sky, have its location be in the ocean or maybe in the Arctic. As for the villains, give Dreykov more screen time to show more of how he controls the Black Widows in the beginning, while also allowing Taskmaster to be more his comicbook counterpart as opposed to being Dreykov's daughter. Dreykov can be the man behind the scenes, while Taskmaster is the one carrying out his will. And besides, having Taskmaster do things of his own will and be a legit threat against Natasha makes for the threat to be more engaging when she does fight him. Also, probably would help in showing us more of why Melina turned away from the Red Room and Dreykov, as opposed to just expressing regret over working with them. And let Alexeia be more of a badass instead of just being a comedic relief.

I don't mind changing a character if the change makes them more compelling. The atual problem is that Taskmaster has no dialogue and no agency; they are an illogical plot device and not well written. e.g. During the skydiving scene, if Taskmaster actually wanted Natasha to die then after Natasha let go of Yelena's parachute it would have been easier for Taskmaster to just let Natasha fall to her death instead of flying towards her and letting Natasha use Taskmaster's parachute to help slow herself down before hitting the ground.

Hello! At 11:20... Did you asked the same question about Loki, during the events of ENDGAME when he escaped with the infinity stone? Like "wait a minute...where did Loki go?" ...

I guess Yelena could kill Dreykov because 1) it was outside..full on chaos and wind blowing and 2) Dreykov wasn't alone. He had bunch of men and their pheromones surrounding him. 🤷♀️

They already went for the Terminator and Manchurian Candidate vibe in The Winter Soldier. They did the same character but with even less personality, this time.

I enjoyed the movie in the theater & the thing that bothered me most (besides Taskmaster) is the end credits scene. Showing that she died at some point in the future is just odd to me.

it was flash bang that was used with the antidote.

7:30 .. she didnt explain to open the door because nat has the ability to use computers too and she probably had preplanned to use the data to find other widows after killing him.

Pew pew used a flash bang to detonate the viles. They’re non lethal but the do explode to an extent and you definitely don’t want one going off in your hands

Pheromones are air carried. So, when Yelena hits the turbine, the air current was pushing the pheromones away from her, as the motor was already rotating for the aircraft to take off. (But I'm really taking this too seriously).

Actually in the comics Natasha has a variation of the Super Soldier serum, Giving her enhanced agility, durability, pain tolerance, immunity to toxins/disease and slows her aging

I don't know if it works exactly like in the movie but a nerve can definitely temporarily cease to function if you constantly press on it. In my case, my leg got partly numb for a couple of months 🙂

On the Task Master thing, knowing there's a multiverse...and knowing that the MCU is not the comics 1 for 1, knowing they can have several iterations of a character like the fake stand in of the Mandarin, hard for me to even fault this version. I always thought that with the godly consistent accuracy of Clint and the mile high skill level of Natasha or even widows as a whole, that they could explain some of those things as being offshoots of Super Soldier serum programs. Would make sense. We know from The Hulk, Civil War, Falcon and the Winter Soldier and even here with the Red Guardian that these serums have been continuously tested with since the Red Skull and Cap. Eh. Love these pitch meetings though. I do have to say, stopped looking at the MCU like a bunch of movies a long time ago. It's one big story or really expensive TV series forever now. Hell, that jail break could probably be a movie by itself. She probably turned herself in to gain knowledge on the whereabouts of the RAFT. She could have been let go for any numbers of reasons, using the movie...i'd say that she probably used her valuable knowledge of sleeping widows around the world as a bargaining chip. Presto chango...movie or part of one.
