Blackbird (Cover) by Seth Staton Watkins
In honor of the recent victory at the "Battle of Montgomery", here is "Blackbird", a musical composition by the Beatles, but primarily attributed to Paul McCartney and is acknowledged under the Lennon-McCartney songwriting partnership. Paul McCartney exclusively presented the piece through his solo performance. During dialogues about the song's origins, McCartney revealed that the inspiration for its lyrics emerged from his encounter with the sound of a blackbird while in Rishikesh, India, as well as the backdrop of racial unease prevailing in the Southern United States. Special thanks to my good friend Bryan for the stellar guitar track on this one.
Lyrics:
Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly, All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise
Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these sunken eyes and learn to see, All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to be free
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly, into the light of a dark black night
Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly, All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise
Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly, into the light of a dark black night
Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these sunken eyes and learn to see, All your life,
you were only waiting for this moment to be free x3
