I think the autofocus argument is a bit misleading in your context, pulling manual focus is a learned skill and not a downside. The manual focus being the norm for filmmaking isn't an arbitrary rule but a form of quality assurance because at the end of the day autofocus will never beat a trained focus puller in consistency and the ability to have artistic direction with focus. All that's not to say using autofocus is bad, and it has its pros in run and gun videography applications. But bringing it up in the context of a "cinema camera" in talking about making feature films is a non issue in my opinion when the goal is artistic direction.

@@joshuabaldassarre sure but for my style where I do feature film alone , witch is the concept of this channel and my way of doing this , autiofocus changed my life and when use right you won’t see a different between manual and auto.. there not a good or bad method . My films are done a certain way around the world in a certain budget. I appreciate your opinion

The feature that you’re referring to at 10:20 is DMF (Direct Manual Focus). It’s been on pretty much all Sony mirrorless models.

@@stateofability I would say any 5 or 7 inch hdmi monitor will do the trick no need to spend that much on that . Go on Amazon and pick any they will all do kinda of the same

I love my Blackmagic Pocket, but you're absolutely right-it sucks with run-and-gun shooting. Many shots in my solo projects ended up being unusable due to poor focus. I'm considering investing in the Dji lidar, or simply changing camera. However, one thing the camera excels at is the user interface. Navigating the menus is so much simpler than any other camera I've used.

@@Kazoue you are right the menu is amazing but after a while all camera menus will be easy to navigate ;) thanks for watching
