People have a lot of different reasons for doing a black out piece of any sort. Can be to cover up old tattoos they no longer feel rather same love for, to cover scars, for aesthetic reasons and many others. Once the black heals you can do beautiful line work with white, or you can do black out with geometric spaces. Tons of options. There’s no point in hating on people for their tattoos, because guess what... it’s not on your body and its not for you.

Hello Zach, Thanks for reaching out! I would suggest that you ask your artist in the area what the hourly rate is.... Every area is different, This is also something not a lot of artist will do for any price. Have a Great Day!
Everyone has their own reasons for doing it. A lot of people do it for cover ups. Some people just like the simplicity of it. I am personally doing it as a sense of a personal spiritual practice, and I'm greatly inspired by the majority of aboriginal and ancient practices that use scarification, tattoos, and other body modifications to symbolize either right of passage or symbolism based on their culture or personal beliefs.
