Believe it or not- I'm about to make one, and this is the best video on all of youtube. Using the wrench itself to compact the cutting face seemed goofy, but really was genius. Awesome job.

@3:59 1-2-26 I believe the calculation is as follows: 1 is the numer of hundred-weights (112 lbs) so 1 x 112 = 112 lbs, 2 is the number of quarter-hundred-weights (28 lbs) so 2 x 28 = 56 and 26 is how many pounds, so 112 + 56 + 26 = 194 lbs.

I bought an anvil that looks exactly like that one about a year ago. It has some heavy pitting on the sides [likely because it was a wartime anvil and was intentionally marred on the sides to dull the ring]. A buddy of mine identified it as an Isaac Nash anvil. Yours might be a Nash /or/ a Peter Wright [both manufacturers shared a space and used the same molds during the turn of the century and into WWI]. Given the "I" marking on it, I'm willing to bet it's an Isaac Nash.

Perfect for when the zombies climb over the back wall. I would not waste it on wood.

Nice chunk of steel. More of a melee weapon, than a firewood splitter.. I might have made a striking face on the back side, rather than a pick. Nonetheless good job.

From what I recall it was 1-7/8” wrench and I just used a 120 grit flap disk to finish it.

Smiths and knifemakers are some of the strangest people... "Hey I know, let's take a perfectly good wrench and turn it into something that's not a good wrench and also not a good hatchet" LOL. All in good fun. It beats staring at the TV all day.

It's not a "hatchet" it's a tomahawk, and for that purpose- it is peerless.
