We bought the Adventure ready griddle last Christmas. It came with a hinged lid and the adaptor hose and stand. I REALLY love the stand.....all 4 legs are adjustable, so getting it level is really easy. We camp a lot so it's the perfect size for travelling. The front edge has never turned colour, but nothing sticks.....so it's all good.

As I wrote earlier on the Griddle page, this is the model I bought last year as my first griddle. Your experience seasoning looks virtually identical to mine. It was an easy griddle to season because of the heat and size. The hot zones you experience are similar to my own although I added wind guards right away because of the winds we experience here in south Texas. Because of those guards I think my cool zones are maybe a little narrower along the sides. Here’s what I’ve discovered in the year since owning it; large cooks must be staged. By that I mean that sometimes I must cook one or two items and then hold them off the griddle while other items are then cooked. For example, making a large batch of chicken fajitas for 8-10 people. I first cook the chicken, pull it off and hold it in an aluminum pan or even the crock pot on Low, while I cook the onions and peppers. Then when they are almost done I add the chicken back to the griddle, mix all the ingredients to combine and then to the final service tray. Breakfast is similar. Cook the bacon and hash browns, then place them on a warming tray while the rest of the items, such as pancakes or eggs are finished. Then serve. It isn’t hard. It just take a little more planning. I love my little 22” griddle. The extra space on my 36” is nice but not absolutely necessary. I can get by with the smaller one if I have to.

That was my thinking as well...its hard to demonstrate Because in my mind if I was feeding that many people I would have a 36in...I was more going in the direction of smaller portions...when cooking...You would 100 absolutely have to do that for a crowd

In case you didn’t already know, when you go to a big box store and do the propane swap you’re not getting a full tank. It’s usually 15#. Buy a tank and get it filled at a U-haul or Ace Hardware.

I bought a 36 inch blackstone few years back and love it. But most of the time it's overkill for me and my wife. Last year I bought the 22 Adventure Ready. I use it most of the time due to ease of cleaning and because I can keep it right next to my backdoor while the 36 is further away on my deck. Yesterday, I fired up the 22 for breakfast but later fired up the 36 for a shrimp fried rice cook that we can eat over 3 days. Love having both sizes.

I’ve had the one burner adventure and I know that the magnetic wind guards are a must have, especially when using 1# bottles to save gas and keep the heat where it’s needed. Just got to use the adapter for bigger bottles for an extended camping trip, that was nice! I keep the bottles in milk crates so they don’t tip over in the truck or around camp.

The 22", and the 17" fit in my oven. I seasoned them just as a I do my cast iron. Thin coats of avocado, preheated 525° oven, an hour and a half per coat. I did pull them out to wipe with my already oily rag to smooth the seasoning, but it was totally worth it. My 22" lives in my garage all year, and showed zero signs of the seasoning breaking down even after 6 months of sitting.

Do I wish I had a larger griddle....of course! The edges do get a bit gummy as time goes on as the edges do not heat up as well. Gonna try your oven way to season it and see if it makes a difference during use. You are a wealth of knowledge. TY.

I use the 22" Blackstone Adventure Ready griddle as well when we are camping in our RV. As I'm typing this out, I realized mine came with the folding-legs (and adjustable) stand which has worked out nice. But if you don't need a stand, yours in this video would be ideal. Yours has the cover while mine has the hood. Not sure it matters much (hood vs cover) since I rarely cook with the hood down (maybe if it's raining). Anyways, great video thanks man!

I’m digging that new smaller griddle. I’ve been flirting with the notion of getting 1, for fishing/camping. Also my boys are in their mid 20’s, and there are some nights where it’s just the wifey and I having dinner. No point in breaking out the 4 burner for a 15 min cook for 2 🤔. I typically use my Weber Jumbo Smokey Joe, but I like the thought of a smaller griddle that I can get’r done quick with a propane griddle.Solid looking hardware my guy. Can’t wait to see the cooks on this 1. lol, I just might sway me to actually go get 1. Cheers Y’all 👊🏼😎🤙🏼

For my 22” I seasoned in my bbq pit. Lightly oiled the 22 griddle top .. top, back sides, bottom .. thin coat everything .. then high heat with all burners into the bbq at 450+. Placed the 22 into the pit, closed the lid, opening every 3-5 mins .. till smoke was gone and repeat. The sides even the bottom were all an even solid black .. excellent, non sticky, seasoned 22”. So the “cheat” definitely works.

I cook with it down atleast couple times during any cook. Neil I was wondering I noticed you didn’t have your cover fastened in the back? Was it just because you never got to that point or was there a special reason why you didn’t do it? Take care you two!!
