In case anyone was confused by the same thing - fuse 2 (power/seat memory) has constant battery power, not accessory power. So, you can use that for battery and use another fuse for accessory power, such as 23 - power windows. I’m not really sure what the consequences are if you wire the dashcam accessory wire to an always-on fuse. I imagine it’d work but might drain your battery.

uhm, er, yeah, about that... DashCam footage is considered to be evidence, not testimony, therefore the 5th Amendment that allows a person to not provide statements that could be self-incriminating is not able to help protect "whoever" was allegedly exceeding the speed limite on what might be deemed a public road. I have only heard about folks in Europe having been prosecuted for excessive speed based on DashCam footage, especially when the video footage is posted for public viewing (KZitem). I wonder if there is some kind of constitutional angle that would protect a driver from being prosecuted for what shows on the DashCam footage, even/especially when posted in a public forum. For me, "were" I to post any such DashCam video I would want to obscure the speed display, whether the vehicle speed exceeded posted speed limits or not.
