That was my first heli. It was a lot of fun. I've now gotten into planes , but I did just get a 230S. It's INSANE compared with the sr120 obviously. (I didn't have the new technology, it was 10 years ago, it was a handful as a beginner)

That last mode bobbing after FFF is much like the original 120 SR, which was my first heli and what I learned on. Good review, thanks for the info.

Main advantage of FP would be a very low parts, therefore it is more robust. Nice demo of flight modes, I have one of these that I have never really flown much. Looking for something small to maybe fly at lunch breaks that is small and I can fly with a small rtf transmitter that I could easily fit in a backpack if on my bike.

I recently purchased one of these, didn't try agility mode until today. It's not particularly enjoyable, except for the first 60 seconds of flight where you have a littleeee bit more response from the throttle. I wish I had purchased a nano s3 instead, I would have if I had realized the nano s3 is collective pitch. But as this is my first "real " rc heli (I've only ever owned 3channel coaxials) I still enjoy flying it around the house. My girlfriend bought me a Blade 150S,and I'm looking forward to the batteries arriving so that I can give it a shot and compare the 2.

You’ll love the 150, so much nicer flying CP helis, even with the gyros enabled 👍🏻

1:10 lol my telemetry does the same thing on this chopper. I honestly thought that I had a buggy one and was considering on contacting Horizon Hobby. But it may just be an overall design but across manufacturing of the board. Who knows? At least it flies well enough.

You’re absolutely right it is harder to fly in mode 2 than a collective. Not enjoyable at all. The first mode after stability is the best. I notice you didn’t seem to have any tail wag. Mine often do. Any tips? Thanks.

I have a few and a ton of parts. The tail booms are like stir sticks, absolute junk. I would skip this and start with a something like the Blade 230. It’s a collective pitch heli but essentially it behaves like a fixed pitch in stability mode and you can grow with it. I regret ever getting mixed up with these things. The 120 that is. It’s not a good design.

Is there anyway possible either electronically or mechanically to get more angle out of the swashplate?

I've got a question for someone. I have noticed that when I am in a tail-in hover (indoors), the tip of the tail fin vibrates at a very high resonance side to side about 1/16" of an inch. Can someone verify if this is a normal characteristic or not? Thanks in advance!

The little vertical fin will definitely vibrate on this heli, it’s very loosely attached. Mine also does this, nothing to worry about.

Mine doesn't do this at all. That is coming from high frequency vibes, which are the worst. They kill electronics. Try a new set of main blades or balance the one you have. Try a new tail rotor blade. If that doesn't fix it, look at the tail motor itself. If the shaft is bent, even minutely, it will definitely cause high frequency vibes. In fact, high freq vibes are almost always from the tail area.

I don't really think it's worth buying a fixed pitch helicopter. The gyro and pitch dampening technology has gotten so good that fixed pitch helicopters really just are obsolete. From my personal experience I can barely distinguish flying the two. Except the collective pitch has way more cyclic authority and is far faster in forward flight. But that's about the only thing that's really that much different, I mean unless you're flying 3D in which case you don't need auto stable anyway, not if you're that good. But I mean the auto stability technology has gotten so good that fixed pitch just really isn't relevant anymore. And every company has it now too. OMP, SAB, Align, Blade, even the Chinese companies like Eachine and XK have this technology. It's literally impossible to miss it.

It’s a truly sad helicopter, if you want a beginner fixed pitch get a wltoys v911s, great little things for the money.
