Blake is about 6’4” - big, affable guy. When he’s not touring he spends his time on his ranch in Oklahoma, where he actually works the land. His wife, Gwen Stefani (a real LA city girl) has been converted to country life and her kids have learned to fish and drive tractors! Apparently when Blake started on the Voice he was so miserable Carson Daly took him to the nearest Bass Pro Shop (all things outdoors), which helped to perk him up.😂

I heard that they stay there now as much as they can unless they are traveling for work. I know how he feels I could never live in the city in fact I go as little as possible been like that my whole life. I have a farm, and this is heaven to me most will never get to live like we do here in the sticks.🤠

Gods country is a really common saying in the South. My mother is from the Carolinas and she always said “Thank the Lord I’m in Gods Country” every time she went home.

Nice choice Jacob! This is one of Blake's best songs. The old footage that BP1 pointed out is actual footage from The Great Dust Bowl which happened in the same time period as the Great Depression. Farmers not knowing any better were planting the exact same crops in the same acres of land and eventually this depleted the soil. That combined with a record breaking drought caused the once fertile soil to turn to the consistency of sand. That caused ginormous dust storms which killed off many animals includng livestock. The stock market crashed in 1929 and a year later the massive drought and the dust storms began lasting for a decade. It crippled our economy the world's economy suffered as well. Blake as BP2 said has had a huge amount of hits to choose from. Old Red is a oldy but goody with a young Blake Shelton(and his former glorious hair 😆). It's a fun song too. Blake sort of straddles the line between traditional country music and more of rock/southern rock music. I've never heard him do anything that was close to pop country which is usually where the contention between traditional and new country exists. He also has done a few duets with Gwen Stefani.

No Real Famers Knew How To Fertilize The Land, ha ha ha. We Just Had A Drought. Yes There Were Some People That Would Buy Up Land NOT Farming One Day Of Their Lives & Telling The Hired Hands How To Do Their Job, ha ha ha Did Not Work Out Well For Them. Farmers Knew What Should Be Done, Like Resting & Fertilize & What Can Be Planted, But Those City Boys Thought They Knew More. And Like I Said Pretty Much Of The Country Had A Major Drought Too. People Didn't Have The Up Graded Waterline's Running Threw Their Fields, So You Just Had To Hope & Pray Each Year That Your Weather Worked Out For Ya.

You guys checked out a fun one by Bake a couple years ago, called 'Boy's round here' (his ex-wife Miranda Lambert was also in it with her group the Pistol Annie's). I bet you would like 'young' Blake too, with his early hits like 'Ol' Red' (a fun song) & 'Austin' (a love song0. He is now married to Gwen Stephanie from the band 'No Doubt' & they have a couple great duets too. A beautiful love song called 'Nobody but you' or maybe the cute love song 'Anywhere with you'. Blake has a ton of great songs. This song here was written by Hardy, who has written & filmed the most shocking, powerful song I have ever heard, called 'Wait in the truck'. It is not lighthearted like the music you usually listen to, but a song everyone should hear. It's about a serious issue & the way this guy handles it makes you think... hard! Check it out!

Hardy wrote this song. He's from Mississippi but lives in Tennessee with new wife now. Hardy has a strong rock background. His new album, Mockingbird and the Crow, is very good. My son recommends hunting gear for a company and he did a video showing him, buddies and my 5 year old grandson, using new duck calls to call in ducks while hunting. The background music was God's Country and it was perfect showing scenery at river at sunrise in Alabama. Glad yall enjoyed it! ❤

Church and Shine yes. Tractors and trucks .. we're country ppl
