I wish every beginner AMV editor would watch this. One of the most common errors I see is when the scene changes before the transition finishes. That, and people stretching one scene throughout multiple lyrics. You’ve done future editors a great service by making this. Nice work! :)

I do see that sometimes, which is unfortunate. I love seeing new editors appear, and I most certainly love watching them grow and improve. I just hope this can help some newbies because I honestly wish someone would have told me these things sooner. It took me time to figure them out and go, "Oh hey, that actually looks much smoother and more professional!"

Keko Rules I’m assuming they were copyrighted, which means either your visual clips are too long, or the song/audio you used is copyrighted. I think you can get away with like 30secs or less of any song on YT, but some companies with shows and movies are very picky and will have your video taken down just for a few consistent, unedited seconds of their content. Usually YT will send you an email informing why they took down the vid.

I really do not know how to use transitions. Though my clips match the actions and sound, I feel that they can be way smoother. Do you have any tips on how to use transitions?

first of all: use AE/SVP/PR. the rest of the programs aren't good for editing few more tips (that aren't in the video): you should edit a short part of music if you can't edit a bigger part because of motivational issues or other stuff. this'll help you make higher quality amvs. you should find what style you want to edit/are more comfortable editing (raw amvs/fx based/candy/etc.). you should finish your scraps if you have any. you should edit anime that you've already finished. (getting spoiled for a edit isn't worth it... i've experienced it myself.) you should add variety to your edit. (i'm one to say that) watch editors you wanna be like for inspiration. sidenote: you wanna be like your favorite editors but you don't realize you're supposed to surpass them.

What should I do Every time I edit and add transition on a long video it kinda makes the video shorter
@blakeyyang
4 жыл бұрын
If there's a possibility, just extend the clip a little longer, if the transition takes up and cuts off the clip a bit (some transitions can do that). If there isn't enough room for the clip to extend and you're faced with it changing to another shot, I would rearrange and maybe put in another clip before it. The original clip you want to add a transition to will be shorter, but it'll give you more space to fit that transition in, if it's so important. Hope that helps, if that's what you were referring to!

Question 1, do you get annoyed by me sharing songs with you through KZitem? Question 2, how does non linear editing differ from linear editing? Question 3, is 4 weapons in 1 going overboard when making a RWBY OC weapon?
