Apart from the obvious caliper cleaning omission afterwards (but if you know anything about brakes, you'll know this already), this is a great video. After I cut my hoses, I decided I needed to bleed one of my MT5s. I followed a Magura video but ended up with the lever pulling to the bar. Followed this video, including angling the lever and pushing the oil before replacing the BFP screw and it worked a treat. The Magura video had the lever level. I still ended up with oil over me and on the floor, but I always do somehow! Note if you use the Magura service kit, one of the syringes has a tiny hole near the 30ml line...this is the syringe you open beyond the hole and put into the lever.

Be nice if the size and type of the various wrenched needed was mentioned....AND...main issue: two other Magura bleed videos make sure to mention pumping the lever a few time to help release air. I've bled Magura and this seems essential.

He would have contaminated his pads! You need to clean up before refitting...

Screw the spring and make the pistons magnetic. Awesome Magura. Avid/Sram and Shimano have a thing or two to learn.

This should be called "how to ruin your break pad's whilst bleeding your brakes" ALWAYS DEGREASE EVERYTHING BEFORE PUTTING YOUR PAD'S BACK IN!!! EVEN A DROP OF THE MINERAL OIL DESTROY'S YOUR PAD'S!!!

Yeah I was screaming "No what the hell are you doing!"" at 6:41. I'm never going back to hydraulic brakes again, too much maintenance.

Timothy Daniels, Magura brakes use mineral oil. How did you NOT know that?

ok - is the reason you do this bleeding process to get rid of entrapped air? if so: - where did the air come from? - shouldn't you address that issue first? - how about if you've experienced "loss of fluid" which would manifest itself as needing to adjust the brake handle screw? shouldn't you address this also??

I wonder if there is a self sealing bleed screw that can be used which would stay in place in the caliper. after bleeding.

Ouuuuuh that uggly end ! You didn't even clean the caliper before puting the pads back :o You can be allmost 100% sure that your pads will be contaminated if you do so...

You pull to make a vaccum, ok, so you have air bubbles in the seringe hose. Then you push again to fill'with oil, so the air bubbles are pushed in the caliper again!!?
