Oh my god, this is perfect for flowing clothing. I've been hitting a wall trying to figure out how to get multiple IK controllers along a single bone chain, but this is an actual workable solution

I wonder if this can be used as a modeling technique, like an alternative lattice deformer that's more bendy. If only there was a more simple way of attaching a bendy bone rig to part of your mesh (the selected elements).

Having a problem - the last mid bone in the rig shrinks away from the last control bone in pose mode. Anyone run into a similar issue? I figure it must have something to do with the un-parenting but all of the other segments seem to be doing fine. *Edit: Seem to have fixed it, though not sure what the original cause was. Deleted the last section and set up the bone constraint *before* unparenting the last control bone and that worked.

BROTHER I AM IN DIRE NEED OF HELP...So i have a weapon that when it goes into reload animation it needs to stretch a corrugated hose from both ends. so my how behaves great on his own...however i cant get the bendy bone armature of the hose to stretch when the weapon is opened,basically the two little bones (the start bone and end bone of the hose's armature)DO NOT follow the objects they need to follow to deform the mesh...i can't get the objects to pull on thos two bones and i am completely lost, ive gone thru all sort of parenting and what not i have done vertex hooks but that just stretches those two ends in a very horrible fashion. The only thing i havent tried which im hoping i dont have to is 1: do an ik righ that pulls on both the sliding part of the gun and the hose armature at once or 2 do the whole thing individually, and maybe even do foward kinematics and stop motion the whole fucking animation. PLEASE if you have bad news let it be solution one.. cause if i have to frame by frame the animation of a single weapon reload im gonna lose my shit.

When I unparent my bone and anchor to it ( @2:45 ), the bendy bone in the middle gets all twisted. Why is this, and how can I solve it?
@emptycore896
2 жыл бұрын
I worked it out. When I'd moved my bone into position I had to rotate it. To fix the twisting, I had to go to edit mode armature>bone roll>recalculate roll and then it was a case of trial and error to set the bone to the correct rotation. This prevented everything from being twisted out.
@emptycore896
2 жыл бұрын
Edit: That wasn't it. The bone still seems to freak out when it's moved.
@emptycore896

I switched to Octahedral and saw the bone was facing the opposite direction and that seems to have made all the difference. I swapped the direction of the bone and it behaves as expected now

hi .. do u know what is the shortcut of bone scaling in 4.0? looks like they changed the shortcut
@Smeebit
10 ай бұрын
It's ctrl+alt+shift+S. This drove me crazy, because the changed the short cut to saving a duplicate of the file. So Isaved like 13 duplicates before figuring it out. I suggest disabling the keyboard shortcut for "save increment" to stop that from happening by accident.

Why do you need to "clear parent" ? I also saw that people choose after "disconnect parent". Sometimes I feel like I do things in Blender and I do not know why...
@bluefoosh
2 жыл бұрын
Normally you would clear a Parent relationship with anything else because you want to edit one particular bone or area at once, and Blender is funny in some ways where if you have anything parented at all before you do all your editing, it'll mess up your project and cause endless confusion. thee joy of Creation lol
