I feel this is a subject matter that is missing content in the blender community..we don’t see a whole lot of storyboard content for blender and it’s definitely needed. More please! Maybe you could show us the Mario storyboard stuff at some point.

here's a tip for you, shift+Tab opens a radial menu at your curser that allows you to switch to every mode in blender (object, edit, weight paint, etc.). Personally I rebound the shift+Tab shortcut to just Tab (there's literally a check box in preferences to flip the functionality, by default just Tab flops between Edit and the last mode you used and shift+Tab opens the radial menu, I find the radial menu more convenient and faster on one button so I switched the functionality to just Tab opening the radial menu)

Thank you for this! The final product in the film looked awesome and this was a great use of 3D space!

For anyone confused on how to set different modes as their own shortcut, go to preferences -> keymap -> 3D View -> Object Non-Modal -> Add New. The rest should be self-explanatory, it's just the way you have to hunt for submenus that can trip you up Great vid btw, looking forward to test that approach in the future

This video makes me wonder Why I'm not learning how to animate in blender yet. I'm an Opentoonz animator. Somentimes I animate on a desactualized version of Ibispaint just because of TWO features that are very VERY usefull. The lazo painbucket tool and the deforming tool. That features aren't on Opentoonz, but THEY ARE on Blender. And not only that, you can animate on 3D and 2D at the same time!!! Seriously, I don't know why I'm not learning how to use this program right now

Yessss this is what the Blender story artist community has been needing! Thank you for this! Quick question, maybe next time could you go over how to planned and executed your camera animation please? Did you thumbnail the camerawork prior to jumping into Blender? How do you plan complex shots (like this and the mario sequence you boarded? Thanks 🔥🔥🔥

I'd love to see some getting into grease pencil itself, brushes, the lasso fills you were doing, settings etc if you have suggestions on where to learn about the ins and outs of it. How you went about making that explosion. All great stuff, thanks so much for sharing.

Great video, alot of great tips and interesting to see your workflow. While I use Blender from time to time I'm not familiar at all with Grease pencil what tool are you using to do the color? It seems to be automatically filling in your boundaries.

very cool, Not sure if I'll try this anytime soon, grease pencil seems a bit daunting rn. I do really like animating in Maya though.
