Hi everyone! What other kinds of shapes would you like to see in this series? :)

This is precisely how I learn. Just jump in with a project, while following the steps, poke around figuring how and why this works this way, try to figure out other ways to accomplish the same thing another way, mess up, scrape, start again, repeat until I have a handle on not just how to do this specific thing but working until comfortable enough until I think I have enough grasp to build from there.

Thanks for the tutorial. For us beginners they’re invaluable. Me personally, I would have gotten rid of the background around the bowling pin graphic first. But I’m picky.

Why? What would that gain you in this case other than extra work? It's literally just a reference image to trace...

I *WOULD* like to see more modeling like this, please. Your explanations are always quite good, and paced for those of us who are still learning the interface. One thing I have been trying to model is a screen door... I want to be able to see through it (so a uv wrapper wouldn't work), and I've been using arrays, but it's become quite complex. I would love to see how you would create one!

Well in general for a screen, I'd try to use a material if possible. If you really want a small grid, you might try this (kzitem.info/news/bejne/zWNpnaqjramChKQ), but I'm not sure I see the benefit of fully modeling the screen geometry...

@@TheCGEssentials Thanks! Fluent may be exactly what I need for this. For other models, I am interested in how you use the curves for modeling shapes vs edge loops like you did with the bowling pin. What would cause you to choose one over the other? Maybe modeling a fan blade or a spiral staircase would be of interest? Thanks, and keep it up - these are great!!

Can you make a series for beginners when modeling a house? Just like you did on sketchup... 'Cause that would be great
