Thanks just got that working. I also noticed that deformations I made in edit mode were not carried into Object mode (which makes sense really). So If you use hooks in edit mode as some might you may have to convert to mesh to see the object correctly in object mode.

Usually I take the curved object and 1) Convert it to a Mesh (Alt-C) and 2) Go into Edit mode, select all the vertices on one end and then press 'F' to make a Face on that end. The order in which you select the vertices will determine the direction in which the Normal faces, so you might have to Flip the Normals (Mesh/Normals, Flip Normals) if the shading doesn't look right. Hope that helps.

I think what you might be looking for is Spline IK; I haven't covered that subject in detail yet as I'm still finishing up a series of mostly introductory videos.

mi pregunta es..... si la curva con los puntos de control ya aplicados, se convierte a objeto para poderla editar..... ¿siguen funcionando los controles de igual manera?.... mi intención es crear una medusa, y con las curvas y este sistema sería mucho más facil que poner muchos huesos en los tentáculos...... ¿sería posible o se pierde la configuración?

Wow thanks for this tut! i was searching like crazy for adding a armature to a curve. I tried a version where i added the the hook objects to the armature now. I parented the hook object to the seperate bones and it follows. Still a bit krunky but i hope ill find the solution know

6:10 you see that when you go into edit mode, the curve suddenly moves, and looks different. this is my problem too here and I want object, and edit mode to look the same :( how?
