Since I live in Turkey I use a lot of orientals in my blends. Yayladağ is one of the best gor pipe. This weekend I will try Virginia + Yayladağ + D,yatbakır and of course + latakia.

As a fan of orientals, I often ad them to my other blends and am never disappointed. It's a wonderful variety of tobacco. Most people don't realize just how many different types there are. Most people are familiar with the 3 most common varieties available. However there's at least 5 more types worth looking into. All are unique and wonderful in their own ways. I enjoy blending and there's never a dull moment. It's wonderful to get a delivery from one of the vendors I frequent. It's wonderful how the internet has given the average person the ability to access all of these different varieties of tobacco. Hopefully there are no restrictions in the future as there was w/ryo varieties. Fingers crossed

I think that blending variety that you were speaking about at P&C I think it is called,”Blending - Turkish Ribbon Cut”. It mentions three varietals used and one called out which is Yenidje the Queen of Tobaccos. Great video series!

Thanks Logan for a great culmination to the best series on Blending Tobaccos on KZitem! I think you should do a series in the individual oriental varieties as the flavor profiles are so diverse. I haven’t had a chance to try them all but the few that I have tried on their own were great all by themselves but they really add a new dimension to blends.

Great video as always! To this day I can't put my finger on what Orientals taste like to me. I do however know that I really enjoy some extra Orientals in my English Blends (Skiff Mixture and EMP being some favorites). I also have some little Xanthi plants to grow in the garden this summer which I'm really looking forward to.

Another awesome video Logan. If the YTPC had a library, your vids would be the goto reference. Balkans are my favorite, it would be nice to locate some good turkish leaf. Thanks for sharing. Have an amazing weekend. JB

That is a nice compliment, Joseph, thank you! I'm always on the lookout for quality Turkish. This blend at P&C does nicely. It's called "Blending - Turkish Ribbon Cut". You might check it out. Take care and warm pipes, my friend!

This may be a silly question but I am very new to the pipe smoking hobby. Just a couple months. My question is…seeing your pipes behind you in your video, does keeping the pipes in the house smell up the room they are in and or the rest of the house?

I am more of a hookah smoker because I have a preference for water filtration, but I make my own shisha tobacco at home because I actually enjoy the natural taste of tobacco instead of the modern flavored stuff but here is a pro tip for anyone that smokes any kind of tobacco in any kind of pipe if you are looking to add a little more of a nicotine kick to your blends add a 4:1 ratio of 4 parts commercial ( nicotiana tobacum ) tobacco to 1 part wild ( nicotiana rustica ) tobacco and it works out perfectly also I get all my tobacco from a whole leaf tobacco supplier called leafonly.
