I got a mustang mare from the 2009 Wisconsin mustang challenge. 9 years later she passed from severe heaves. I loved Bayle so much! My lungs went bad before hers did, and for years she was my daytime outdoor transportation. My way to explore. I miss her so much. I also adopted a BLM jenny burro who I called Nellie, and I still have her. Such a loveable donkey. If I could get her trained to pull my one seat cart, we could have all kinds of adventures. :)

I need some advice. I'm getting my first mustang (my first personal one, my mom has trained a couple). But, I'm having a hard time deciding what a good "max price" is for one. This mare I have my eye on (I just have that feeling about her. I can't explain it. I feel like I need that little mare) she's a popular one it seems. 14 bids, at $205 and that's not even 5 hours into the auction. Can I get some advice on where I should stop bidding? I keep also considering the fact that she is eligible for TIP so I'll be making back $1,000 from that. The mare is tag 4056 in the current online corral auction if you want to take a look. I've never felt like I've needed a horse so much in my life and she's on my mind all day everyday since I first saw her. (Also I have lots and lots of horse and horse training experience even being a junior trainer. I'm not going in blind and have a big network of help to make sure I'm doing everything to my mustangs benefit in the proper manner)
@CamillesMustangs
4 жыл бұрын
That one is my favorite!!!! I had a really good feeling about her too! I am assuming from your profile picture that you jump? I think she would be a really nice sport horse! I put in an application to bid on her but only if no one else could see her potential and she was going to go for really cheap. I was hoping that being bay she would get looked over but that may not be the case. Honestly if I had all the funds I'd invest a good 1000-2000 on her. Keep in mind thought that you probably will not get the first $500 until 60-90 days after you finalize the adoption. And the second 500 comes about 60 days after applying for her title a year later. So I wouldn't plan on depending on that money to help you out. But honestly GO FOR IT! I freaking love the look of her. Please let me know if you win her! I'd love to follow her journey!

This is the first mustang video that actually looks at the right things when picking a horse! I’ve seen so many videos where people are only looking at colours and markings, passing by obviously superior animals because they were plain. It’s frustrating to watch! Conformation, temperaments and eye/expression should come first. I know nothing about mustang genetics but I’m actually noticing weaker conformation in the coloured horses , weaker hind ends and straighter shoulders. Maybe just a coincidence or the animals they’re using to get the colour. 🤷♀️

I'd have some fun, and pick based on randomness, or the mystery of destiny. I surely can pick based on conformation, temperament, and movement preferences, but eh, let's have a little fun, go on gut feeling. Not sure if anyone here has seen Elisa Wallace ? Her channel features some amazing mustang transformations. One in particular lately is a horse named Eton. If you ever see the day he arrived at her barn compared to now. It's unreal how much he has finally relaxed into the good life. That's tough to not want all of them, but ummm, most people have budget restrictions, lol. This was an interesting video you uploaded. I cracked up at when you took your quiz next to the jail van reserved parking spot. Eh, when you're on your deathbed that quiz won't matter. This mustang adventure will stay in your memory for a lifetime! He looked pretty amazing leaping onto your trailer. Subbed!

Forgot to add this. Wisconsin also has a satellite adoption center in Mequon. Rarely has any horses, but this is where I picked up my Blm jenny. On the internet adoptions you can sometimes have your mustang sent here. So, dont let an out of state horse adoption stop you from getting your dream mustang if you live in Wisconsin. :) Also, dont pass the burros by. They are so sweet, and easy to tame. Much easier than the mustangs. Even if you didnt want to gentle one to ride for a child, or one to pull a cart, they make the best pasture buddies, and some, like my Nellie, will guard your sheep or goats.
