Found these guys while searching for the classic occult rock band Coven. I really loved what I heard. I love how Blood Ceremony are kind of like a cross between Coven, Black Sabbath, and Jethro Tull, and an awesome one at that. At first I wished the vocalist, Alia, I think her name is, had a more theatrical vocal range like Jinx Dawson of the aforementioned Coven. But Alia sings with a passion and her voice has a haunting quality that perfectly fits the music. And her flute playing is just, ah, I can't even describe how much I love the presense of the flute and how well Alia plays it! So I went nuts and ordered all their albums at once. And I do not regret it one bit! And the mystical occult lyrics don't hurt either. Hope to catch them in concert one day.

My favorite retro/vintage Occult band. Video even has a bit of Kenneth Anger's - Lucifer Rising vibe to it. There is a definite albeit underlying power to their music. For some reason, this is the kind of sound I imagine Charlie Manson's crew listened to as they drove around L.A. ; )

This very video was my first encounter with Blood Ceremony. I already knew before the minute was passed that this was a properly good band. Now they are my very favourite, passed by Zeppelin and Sabbath. Blood Ceremony is just the best, and their new album shows that the old ways remain. Not even Phil Collins or Ian Anderson can say that. FYI, RökFlöte does not mean "rock flute" in old norse, it means "smoke cream". Smoke as in smoke, and cream like in fat milk. I think Ian spent all his remaining genius on Thick As A Brick, and lost his marbles after that. What kind of rubbish twat would go from making the most brilliant British prog to pure terror against nature (salmon farming)? No, I am not pushing any political views here, it's just facts. Salmon farming is the most threatening form of agriculture man has ever done. Forget farting cows and Burmese opium, salmon farming can literally destroy fishing (which is already on the edge in regards to how much they can harvest). Also, it would leave people like Eric Clapton and I to quit flyfishing, which is a very refined and cultural pass time, kinda like golf, but for intelligent rich people. (This is why Richard Hammond has taken up golf, he clearly isn't very intelligent, based on the fact he's never owned an Alfa Romeo, and he thinks prog rock is bollocks). No, this is it. Blood Ceremony has absolutely got it. The world needs Blood Ceremony to guide it back to the old days. Back when proper guys like G.E.M. Skues (some British victorian flyfishing bloke you never heard of), Knut Hamsun (a Norwegian proto-Hemingway, or rather Hemingwaywas a post-Hamsun), and Aleister Crowley were around to teach us interesting things and inspire us to proper manners and proper life. Much love from Norway. Blood Ceremony is the fucking best! ❤ All hail Alia, Sean, Lucas and Michael. They are absolutely Gods!

Yeah, the flute is very late 60s/early 70s motif. Moody Blues (Search for the Missing Chord/Days of Future Past), Mamas and the Papas (California Dreaming), Jethro Tull. I haven't really heard much Jethro Tull except the main two or three radio hits, do they use the flute in alot of stuff? Im mainly a guitar player but mess with low whistles, tin whistles, flutes etc. A newer Celtic rock band that uses wind instruments that's pretty good is Eluveitie (check out Call of the Mountains, King, Omnos, Rose for Epona or anything with Anna Murphy before she left), that entire subculture of paganish tradition instrument stuff (either rock or pagan fantasy type stuff) is pretty cool (Wardruna, Daenomia Nymph etc), alot of Hurry Gurdy, Tagelharpa, Low whistle/tin whistle/flute, frame drum/bodroun etc

Great video, saw them a few months back with Kylesa and they kicked ass. The Eldritch Dark is my favorite album so far this year and maybe of the past 4-5 years, it is that good. Hope they come back to the South. And just for the record, Jethro Tull is not a "he" its a "them" as in band. Secondly, just because there is a flute, it isn't Tull. I hear more Black Widow and Coven influence than Tull. You all should look into late 60s & early 70s progressive occult rock - some wild and cool stuff.

Do you like Alan Gibson? I've been a big Gibson fan ever since the release of his 1966 film, "Eh, Joe?". Before that, I really didn't understand any of his work. Too TV, too short. It was on "Crescendo" Alan Gibson's directorial presence became more apparent. I think "The Satanic Rites Of Dracula" was the director's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on vampirism. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three Dracula films. Kennedy, take off your robe. Watch the brilliant ensemble acting of Lee, Cushing and Lumley. You can practically hear every nuance of every line of dialogue. Michael, remove your dress. In terms of mise-en-scène craftsmanship, the sheer script, this film hits a new peak of professionalism. Michael, why don't you, uh, dance a little. Take the threat from Dracula to Professor Lorrimer Van Helsing. In this monologue, the lord of all vampires addresses the use of his nemesis as a Horseman of the Apocalypse. Jessica Van Helsing is the most moving heroine of the 70s, all about monogamy and commitment. Her character is extremely uplifting. Her personality is as positive and affirmative as anything I've seen in Hammer Horror. Kennedy, get down on your knees so Michael can see your asshole. Gisbon's TV career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially shows like "The Capone Investment" and "People Like Us" . Michael, don't just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Gibson works best within the confines of the motion picture than as a television series creator, and I stress the word creator. This is "Goodbye Gemini", a great, great film, a personal favourite.

@mttqll8623

It match in a way. Twins enter a weird party scene and end up dying. Hence goodbye gemini, goodbye twins. And the movie has ritualistic occultish kind of scenery. The chorus could be the end scene, where jules twin kills his sister, and then kill himself. And the two verses could be the death world or the party scenes they entered while alive, depending on each twin point of view. Jacki makes jules follow him to the parties and jules makes jackie follow him to dead. Theres the references to carnavy street and the sun in their bedroom.
