I remember the Kunai grass from my service in Malaysia. Just walking through it is difficult, let alone fighting your way up a hill! As you mention, It seems to hold the heat in when you walk through it. Very informative commentary Dave.

The 2nd Div was from Sendai. Beautiful city now, N of Tokyo. Lived there.

The Sendai division was basically destroyed on Guadalcanal. It managed to build back up later in the war but it was the never the same quality as pre Guadalcanal

Well, sorry to say, the sound quality is so poor, I/we were unable to appreciate the audio observations........ It is a common problem..... All the effort to visit a site and energy spent is amiss......
