My experience is that the blower style cooler has lower temperatures when gaming for a few hours. custom coolers leave the hot air in your case so eventually the card is just gonna suck in air that is already 60c, so i dont get why people like custom coolers that much...

Finally someone who gave definitive answer to the question instead of long beating around the bush bs that other channels don't explain the answer well enough for viewers to confirm their suspicions. You are right, each cooler type is best applicable to different computer cases. blower for less air vented cooling cases and multi fan coolers for well vented and high air pressure cases. And you didn't pad out the video to be longer than 10 minutes to get more ad revenue, good on you being an honest person unlike so many channels padding video playtime.

You explained this the best issue with coolers the best . I've been breaking my neck watching video after video on these big tech channels about cooling solutions and this is the first one thats hit on every point of consideration in a clear manner . Smh . What took me about 5 videos and 3 articles to learn, I picked up in your video alone . I'm a noob at this I needed the kind of concise explanation you gave when it comes to gpu cooling vs cpu cooling, the amount of fans in a case, intake and exhaust . I was freaking confused man . You helped a lot .

Another case for blower-style coolers are Mini-ITX cases where you might not have cubic space to even place case fans. Blowers will take air from anywhere it can from the limited cubic space and expel it out the back.

Quick Answer: If your case has fans get the regular fans on the GPU. If your case doesn't have fans you need the blower type that is the reference card which will send the air outside the case from the slot in the back of the card.

I have a define r5 case and I went with a reference style GPU because I went for balanced airflow. I have my psu; 1 fan on the bottom going in; 2 in the front going in 1 in the back going in; and finally a corsair watercooler loop pointing out the top of the case. Theory going I would rather push out all the gpu heat than having it have to be sucked out. Super stable and highly overclocked.

Me: Looking for a great GPU cooler TD: The blower might not be the best choice because it has a tendency to be hotter and run slower Me: Uh, okay guess I'm not buying a blower GPU and I guess I'll buy an open-air GPU TD: So you're probably like 'then why don't you just get the open-air GPU?' Me: Yeah tbh now I am TD: But wait, if you have no proper cooling in your pc like multiple case fans, an open-air gpu can overheat your pc Me: *has no case fans*..... blower fan it is! :D Thanks TD!
