This video is of the entire Blowhard Trail in Cedar City/Brian Head, Utah. That's right, start to finish; including footage of the parking areas, shuttle spots and some of the info from Trailforks to help you plan and know what you're getting into.
I was a bit hesitant to ride this trail because I really had no idea what to expect other than what people had told me. Varying opinions had me concerned that I might be walking a lot. I'm glad I decided to throw caution to the wind, well kinda...I could be a professional Risk Assessor 🤣 🤓.
The goal with this video was to give you full access to what you would experience on the trail. When editing a video it's really easy to cut out the "boring" parts or only include the sections where we feel like we're killin' it, or has crazy beautiful views, etc... nothing wrong with that but this was/is meant to be a full access pass for anyone interested in seeing the whole thing, before they ride it themselves. Also could be used as a trainer ride or just to relive and/or remember it all since the last time you rode it.
What were my thoughts about the trail?
Hands down I LOVED it all.
It has a little bit of everything
The upper portion is where the steep stuff is and I enjoyed it
The middle section was full of different styles of terrain
7 miles of downhill...I mean, 😍
It is techy and double black (for some) in a few spots, hike-a-bike if that's not for you
Best Shuttled Trail in the area (of course that's my opinion).
Highly recommend ShuttleDudeJeff, he has options for all the trails in the area.
Depending on time of year, wear some layers that you can easily stow.
In hindsight, I wish I'd packed a snack or a beverage to enjoy on one of the many overlooks. The views are stunning.
The end portion of the trail was so crazy beautiful (end of September/Beginning of October).
This is now one of my absolute favorites in the area (Southern Utah - think Cedar City, Brianhead, St. George, Hurricane, etc).
If you have any questions don't hesitate to pop them below in the comments section and I'll do my best to answer them.
This was shot on the brand new GoPro Hero 9. 4k 60fps and Hyperboost with stock settings for the rest. 🤓
Bike: 2020 Trek Rail 9.9 all the bells and whistles, it's my husband's bike. My Pivot Firebird is in the shop getting overhauled since I had to send the suspension out for rebuild. I missed her dearly on this trip!
