I noticed that there was gas in my oil tank after my carb kept flooding even after I adjusted the float bowls all the way down. I ordered new needle and seat and changed the oil. After doing so, I turned the key, and she came to life! She was purring like a kitten for all of 15 seconds, and then I heard a faint ticking noise. It got loud quickly. Before I could shut her off, BOOOM! THREW A ROD RIGHT THROUGH THE OIL PAN. I am just devastated. I don't have even 1,000 miles on this engine. Life was rough for me for quite a while. Now that things are good and I had means to start working on her again, she went and had a heart attack. I have had this car since I was 15 in 1996. Still not even close.... I want to give up.. just stuck at a crossroads right now. This engine was built by Dave's engine machining in Newark, Ca. 420h.p and 415 ft lbs. Tq. 350 block bored .30 over. Keith black flat top forged pistons. Iske 280 mega cam and roller rockers. Aluminum edelbrock heads and water pump. Proform 650 carb. MSD ignition. Behind it is a 2800 stall converter and a th350 Trans. A Ford 9" rear end with a telescoping drive shaft. Next purchase will either be a 383 stroker. .. or a for sale sign... we'll see. Pray for my sanity through this calamity. #64impalass #impala #ss #blownengine #threwArod #project64 #thisonehurts
