I like the rake. What type and size boat and motor is that? What if the line is longer than the boat? Do you just pull it in after the rake grabs it? Trying to get into the business while I'm in college.

I know it was for the video, but it's good to see obeying the law with throwing back females and small ones. I hate over harvesting of anything. Even though there is a debate whether you are over harvesting anyway if you are doing 500 cages for one family, how many businesses are there? 100 or more? So could be 50,000 cages and probably more add to that the illegals that are kept and you can see how over harvesting is very easy.

@qsierra57 if the rope is too long you will cut it with your motor... each rope is cut to the same size...i measure to insure that my trap comes up in the same spot just in front of the motor...most crabbers in my area use 24ft carolina skiffs...some use 21' or 19'.... but i have a 27ft carolina skiff...good luck!!!

Also a bait door isn't really needed unless you want one because you put bait in to put out the pots, but if not you can leave off the door because gravity makes the pot fall and the bait stays in

I was down there crabbing out of Venice. We crabbed in South Pass two bays about 45 minute run from Venice. WE had to hook every pot. THat rack saves a lot of time and trouble. Just like trotliners now have a cage instead of dipping the crabs and automatic winders and tong pullers, but the thing is the strong could go and now the weak are able to do the shit. Crab pottijng is fun with other people and boring as fuck by yourself
