As much as I appreciate the steamers, i really think there are so many awesome diesels, which are worth a visit! Great job capturing those!

A nice touch of Southern there, 4 VEP, what a memory jogger!!! But the best capture Matthew is D6851 spooling up out of Sharpthorne, the hairs on the back of my neck are still standing up😂😂

Wow, 2.19 a clayton , by late 1971, this class had been withdrawn. It was lovely to see one😊.

@TheSouthernerYTChannel thank you for letting me know . They must look very similar, I've never been to the bluebell, but it looks amazing. The permanent way looks immaculate , the rolling stock is so clean. If I lived nearby, I'd like to see Sheffield Park station where the elton john tumbleweed connection lp cover was shot. This must be one of the uks best heritage lines , I've just subscribed. Thanks again .

The Class 14 is an 0-6-0, the Class 17 "Clayton" is a much longer Bo-Bo design, both powered by different types of Paxman engines, a single unit in the Class 14 and one each end in the Class 17. Many more Class 14s survive as most were sold into industry when only a couple of years old, surviving at coal mines and steel works until the 1980s. The sole surviving Class 17 was sold to Ribble Cement, being preserved in the early 1980s. HTH!

Work is ongoing, but being a complete four coach unit, the work required is immense and expensive. Fingers crossed for the SETG.

Has anyone explained yet what the 37 did to deserve having the name Flopsie bestowed on it? 🤔

@Trainspotter_1015 That's London Transport Class 438 4TC - 428. This is Class 423 4-VEP - 3417 "Gordon Pettitt". Both Mk1 based units, but very different beneath the skin. Thank you
