I've always wondered how they switch from the flam jam to the unison part where they play just triplets.

4:12 Bass 2 makes the signal for the basses to start playing a certain rhythm and then said rhythm becomes a signal to the center quad, who starts playing a rhythm, and the other quads start playing with the center quad and after that goes on for a certain number of times the center snare does a buzz thingy and then they all go into 8-8-16

Anyone heard Roger explain why the fat snare sound? It started around 2015 and has gotten fatter. It may sound good for judges but from the stands it can sound a little mushy. Love the awesome hands though, another top caliber line.

He switched from Evans Hybrids to the new Evans System Blue heads. I'm guessing has just experimenting with the new sounds. But I can definitely see the increase in fatter snare sounds.

It's better than the extremely cranked up, ear-grating sound at least.

When it zoomed in on the snare girl at 23:16, I noticed that the tip of her pointer finger wasnt always on the stick. I also have small hands and when i play for long periods of time, i notice my knuckle starts hurting quite a bit and it feels better to let go with the pointer. I wonder if theres a correlation or if I just have bad technique.

5 months late, but letting the pointer finger's tip hang off the stick is not a problem! Personally I think it's better, because you train your hands to always rely more on the back 3 fingers than the pointer... But it depends on if you can control it or not.

A speaker fell on him about halfway through the season, but he won in the long run because the same speaker literally blew up
