Really liked this video and information. This is what the world needs more of. I wish I had been raised there.

A most interesting presentation on down home, mountain music history in a cross roads community of Alleghany County, NC. The blend of traditional mountain music, bluegrass, with a country music influence is a patchwork quilt of goodness to the ears. Thank you for working to increase the knowledge of the heritage of this region of the country. - Tennessee Smoky

About 50 years ago, we lived for a good number of years near Piney Creek. Our daughter went to Piney Creek school and speaking of wonderful old-time music. I don’t remember how often but they’d be a big gathering of musicians at Piney Creek school playing banjos, fiddles , guitars , homemade wash pail base ,harmonicas, and whatever else somebody would think to bring. Everybody would be playing at once and then that magic flow would begin like a wonderful orchestra, but without the conductor, it would all come together everybody would feel it almost like an old-time mountain church that would get filled with the Holy Spirit. Wonderful times what wonderful memories I miss them.
