According to my estimations, the car weighs about 2750 LBS. stock is approx 2700 minus 390 for the KA24 plus 450 for the 2JZ... other weight added could be cancelled by small weight reduction here and there (seats, interior, suspension, etc...) Yes I went out of my way and did the math lol

Sigma Projects I went to forums that cited "official" numbers that said 2JZ stock is about 450 LBS so I just used that
@sigmaprojects
7 жыл бұрын
If they are citing 450lbs for a 2JZ that must be a short block without accessories and no exhaust/turbo etc. You can think about it, 2JZ being an iron block and weigh the same as a LS3? That would sound fishy since a fully dressed LS is in the ~450lb ball park. Edit: Also another way to look at it is that Toyota's 3S-GTE (iron block 2.0l, I4, turbo) is in the range somewhere of 400~450lbs with accessories. So a 2JZ-GTE would be hard press to weigh the same, unless they are talking about a short block.
@supers0nic77
7 жыл бұрын
I weighed my 91 base model hatch at 2500lbs, that was without the spare tire and carpet. My buddy's hicas 91 hatch was a whopping 300lbs more. Anyways, with a 2j it's going to add a lot of weight. Heavy engine but awesome.

I'm so happy for you. I know there's been a lot of heartache and money dumped into this car, but I'm glad you stuck with it, because you get out of it what you put into it. Project cars go beyond the car itself, because the experience and knowledge you've acquired from the process is certain to be valuable in the future. In the next couple of years, I'll be diving into a project of my own, and I could certainly learn from the videos you've made about this journey. Enjoy the car!

Sagging fiberglass body panels, missing hood squirters, full ISR parts, missing corner lights that only cost 50 dollars.. it isn't the cleanest 240 by a long shot, but it's pretty clean. Adam's car isn't clean anymore either, not that it has that purpose. This car still has a lot of things that were skimped out on, my personal car is a lot cleaner than this, not that it matters lol. Not trying to shit on this project because it's still awesome, but it kinda insults people like me who have been building their car with top quality parts for 5 years and nobody can even tell the difference between that monumental difference in effort

When I did my supra 10+ years ago (its in High Performance Imports Magazine issue 64). anyway Ive done a few different turbo setups on the 2Jzgte. The reason why twin turbo kits make less power and more laggy is the firing order of the 2j! best I got back in the day out off a twin GReddy tdo6s was 380rwkw/509rwhp but full boost wasnt til 5500rpm.... was terrible. I went single garret. full boost was at 3550rpm but made 557rwkw/747rwhp on pump fuel! Daily drove it for 5yrs. Best it ever pulled on the dyno was 590rwkw/791.203rwhp with over 1000nm torque. Went to a few different dyno competitions and it consistently pulled those numbers! I love how your car stands now, very nice. Check out my 180sx/240sx.... I got a cringy vid on my channel.....

The ones who say "built not bought", usually don't have a ride of their own or the put a pop can muffler on it, some noodle tires, Craigslist rims, and a bunch of fake carbon fiber. I spent 5 yrs building my 1974 F-250. I paid to have the body work done but inbuilt the rest. I have yet to have an actual car guy crack on that. You do what what you know and are able to learn and leave the rest to the pros. I'll probably build my next truck entirely on my own but I guarantee I'll have more than 6 yrs into building that one.

Love it David, also my dream car. I used to own a 96 SR20DET Type X, will buy one again and engine swap it for sure. Best car I've ever owned.
