I personally feel like no laundry detergent on its own gets stains out, we use regular detergent at my house (looking to switch) and we still have to spray it with shout stain remover for some things (such as sauce, coffee, etc)

Ariel C I agree! I’ve had to always use stain remover. But a lot of people want to know if stains come out with detergent only. I do have a stain remover soap stick from Meliora. It works pretty well! 😊

I use peroxide. Just a small dab with some hand soap and then immediately rinse off so it doesn’t bleach the item. Always gets the stain out and is great because I buy the peroxide anyway so I’m not buying extra items that I don’t need. Also it’s a way cheaper alternative than most stain removers and in my opinion works way better.

Also-I’m a little confused if the poly vinyl alcohol coating on many eco friendly pod options are biodegradable and ok for the environment. mahinh1211 Thanks!! That’s tough. If you like scented laundry detergent, definitely go with Dropps. Their fabric softener is great for athletic clothes and gets the odors out. Blueland is pretty basic and unscented (although Dropps has unscented ones, too). Honestly, I like both and go back and forth on it. I know that’s not a decisive answer. But they both work really well. 😊 The only con is when you’re using Dropps with stinky laundry, you pretty much have to use the fabric softener with it to get the very strong odors out. I hope that helps!

The shirt with marinara sauce...did you wash it again in a cycle using any other detergent that was able to get it out? In my experience most laundry detergents (even traditional ones) don't get that out without the help of some stain remover and/or soaking. I think that would be a true test - use one of the conventional ones immediately after on the same shirt as a control test. I know you mentioned that in the video but did you ever get that stain out?

You said it originally...most detergents Do Not get stains out, excerpt for the Major expensive ones, like Tide, and you have to scrub it in. I used Tide as my pre-treat for stains. So saying they do not get stains out is a moot point. And why is no fragrance a plus. The Laundry Industry has gone onto scent crystals (Gain) to give you that Fresh Laundry scent. I want my laundry to smell as it has been freshly wash... I hate it when i used "fragrance Free " laundry.. Are you sensitive to scents?
