NOTE: The audio for the LAB-6 LP was recorded from a single stereo microphone directly feeding the master disc cutting amplifier, hence “direct to disc.” Recording direct-to-disc meant that an LP side, consisting of four to five songs, needed to be recorded in its entirety in one take, without mistake, with a short pause between songs to allow the lathe operator to advance the cutting head for the next song while still recording live. The audio appearing in this video is from the CD-900 CD, which was recorded in parallel using a two-track master tape and transferred directly to the digital compact disc master.
