Blytheville was my 1st base, 2101 Comm Sqd Jun 81 - Dec 83…Im sorry the base closed; became a man there & learned life lesson that still sustain me.

Ahhh...The good ole SAC days. The "real" Air Force. AMMO Troop. Carswell AFB WSA 1984 -1988, SRAM, ALCM, B28, B61. The most unique and demanding tour of my twenty-one year career. Blessed and Proud to have been a "SAC Trained Killer!"

If you ever wanted to see a bunch of 20-something doing nothing and having a good time not doing it, go to the base fire station. Once the trucks are shiny and the station is cleaned, we might spend a couple hours training. When retreat sounds, that’s when the real fun starts. Firefighter at Wurtsmith AFB, MI and Castle AFB, CA, with brief interludes at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal, Palmarola/Soto Cano AB, Honduras, and Riyadh AB, Saudi Arabia. Last of the tailboard riders. Proud son of LeMay. Last of the Cold Warriors.
