WOOOOO!!! How about that Swirly Bokeh from the Helios 44-2!?!!? How many of you keep some vintage glass in your kit?
@Jeremykade

I know everybody loves this, I even own one but I'm just not a huge fan of the swirly bokeh.. it's like a one trick pony. Cool for a very specific look, but distracting otherwise (my opinion obviously!) Beautiful glass though!

I just picked up a fd to micro 4/3rds adapter for my black magic and was wondering if the Vintage lens Jupiter-8M Carl Zeiss Sonnar lens would be able to work on there? If not what would the recommended adapter or model of jupiter lens that would work?

New to this, this is awesome! That Helios, wow! I have a Bmpcc 4k and a Viltrox M2, can i slap one of these vintage lens on and just go, or do I need a different adapter?

You need an adapter but they can be bought for cheap! They can be bought for as little as 8 bucks. It's called an m43 ro micronfour thirds adapter. I hope you hang around for future content!

Andrew, thanks for the review of some of the vintage lenses that are in your glass bag, so nice to know that I'm among those that still value and appreciate vintage lenses. The Sakar renders really nice footage, it has real character when paired with the BMPCC 4K. Really nice lenses. I feel I have acquired a small sizeable collection of some old lenses, and hopefully, I will start shooting then upload some footage.

I just snagged a Helios 44-2 recently and it is really beautiful - the hype is legit. I wouldn’t use it for most projects but it has a style you don’t see anywhere else.

@Drewxcifer
4 жыл бұрын
For the talking head shots I use the sony a6400, it's great for everyday shooting and more then sufficient for KZitem stuff. the bmpcc4k would be a great YT camera as well if not a bit overkill the biggest drawback would be not being able to monitor yourself with out buying an external monitor since it doesnt have an articulating screen.

What about the 44-4?
@Drewxcifer
3 жыл бұрын
The 44-4 is a solid lens as well and to my knowledge it was manufactured a little later than the 44-2.( somewhere around 1988 vs 1981) I also think it has less aperture blades (6 rather then 8) Also the 44-4 is a tad bit sharper than the 44-2. Either is a great buy and my Helios is one of my favorite lenses in my kit.
