@1D0N I tried that, but the car was not on flat ground, so it fell off even when engine was not running. Second problem is airflow from fan, and third problem is that the fuel rail cover sits on rubber gromets and thus vibrate more than the engine cover itself. I will try it again sometime on fuel rail, flat road and cycle revs.

@177SCmaro Stock vs Modified is a great comparision. Really. Fiberglass smell and kia interior syling are something everybody wants from super sport car. GM did not develop efficient engines. It bought it from koreans. American cars don't handle well at all. There are few exceptions that were developed in Germany and tested on Nurburgring.

I agree completely, and reliability is also a string side, my father owns a e39 528i, it has half a million km, and has been running for 15 years straight, never broke down, never had any problem what so ever, and rarely get's driven like it shouldn't, it's always up there, at high speeds, drifting in turns and exits, braking hard an it still works perfectly. it's his 5th bmw i think and he has owned nissan seat mercedes renault and he still prefers bmw over all the others. bmw's are perfect

@TheRealXesc You are right. Thats why GM is on deathbed plugged to government life support and Toyota is recalling toyotas in tenths of millions, including rebadged ones. Meanwhile BMW's revenue grew 9% in 2010.

@Vore667 "...only germans and italians know how to build a true car that bring smile to your face." There's an open minded sentiment. It's funny too, because my old Chevy Camaro, that doesn't have one German or Italian nut or bolt in the whole car, sure brings a smile to my face when I hit the loud pedal.

the coin trick was for their v12 engines. when you stand the coin, fire up and shut down the engine. not stand it up on a running egine

@177SCmaro Till the first bend. Then it brings chilling wave up your spine. You see, the problem is american engineers somehow forgot on bends. The other mistake is that they balanced cars like USS Nimitz, so they perform like one when out of water. Try and drive Lancia Delta HF Integrale once, and compare it with your camaro, and see what I mean. Even obsolete two stroke east german Trabant outperforms most us cars on bends. Its ridiculous.

BMW makes fantastic engines. Their electronics on the other hand, are maybe better than average, but certainly not their strong point. In any event, a BMW is about an integrated whole, not a great engine in a crummy chassis. They're balanced, they handle well in any weather, they ride decent (NOT Mercedes nice - but they're sportier), they accelerate well and last a long time.

@discocreator76 not true, i have had both gm and german (vauxhaull and audi) and have been in many bmw's i must say the build quality is so much better in the german cars, now if you take the engines apart like i do then it becomes clear gm is made with inferior parts only able to withstand a little over standard power while the vw golf i had in bits could take double what it had been given from factory no problem, also alfa romeo is very good for fun nothing better to drive

Or did you experienced in terms of listening and feeling, you might have just experienced one which has a bearing problem. Oh congratulations you have found a mistake, have a medal. =)

@177SCmaro What does age have to do with anything? I am building 27 years old porsche 944 "the best handling car in america" and when I finish it, it will kill some serious new sport cars. So what if its 27 years old? Look, dont get me wrong, I like how old american muscle cars look, they are awesome in that aspect. Driving them on mountain road fast is something they cant do. And so does fair share of new US cars.

@Vore667 How do you know? That's a pretty big assumption on your part considering you've never even seen my car. My Camaro could be set up for road course action for all you know. And correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't an American car currently hold the record for production cars on the nurburgring? In fact, there are a number of American cars on that list. Even modern mustangs and camaros have put down some pretty darn good times. What you're saying makes no sense.
@177SCmaro

@Vore667 Actually it's 30 year old moded car vs modern stock car that still cost 10 times more. Look, it's pretty clear you don't know what your talking about. That, and/or you're living in comfy little bubble based on assumptions and impressions. I highly doubt anything I say will change that, so I won't try. Also, I'm not taking anything away from the Europeans, they generally have and continue to build some great cars with their fair share of crappy cars and failed companies too. Take care.

You line the coins up against that little sloped area. That's cheating. You need to set them on top of the fuel rain cover, on one of the silver lines, parallel with the silver lines.

@TheRealXesc i think you made a mistake in your comment. You mean a BMW is comfortable, stable and smooth. Seeing you wrote "NICE CARS" at the end of your first sentence, it would seem that you do not process much knowledge of cars. Hence the reason for your comment, whether being contrary or not.

@177SCmaro Ive seen old camaros and they are same as other american cars. Handling is mediocre. If you set it up for road corse, it is not stock any more. Corvette may be fast on nurburgring, but its chasis design is not like corvette from the past, but more like copied european design. Even if it is fast on nurburgring, its interior is still chinese truck plastic, so any bmw 3 coupe feels 10 times more premium than new corvette. Fact is, american car ideal is wrong. German is not.

@TheRealXesc If you want to look for little mistakes due to fast typing, then I should inform you that yor first comment has a mistake right after you stated "lexus". Also another mistake is that when naming something by its name it should start with a capital; so you should have typed Lexus, not "lexus".

@TheRealXesc "you sure need a hug" c'mon are you a 15 year old internet troll? bmws arent very smooth because some have a tight suspension designed for 'feeling" the road. most sports cars have a tight suspension. if you want something soft and boat like maybe you will buy an american car, my mother owned a 04 pontiac grand am, it was smooth for a while, suspension was rougher than fuck after a year. got an 09 gmc silverado, 49000k and the engine light turns on. I love american reliability! :p

@discocreator76 They are inferior to inferior people. We have a saying here that translate to something like: "Chewing gum is not for peasant." If you like GM, than own it and drive it.I think its worst junk ever, but to each its own. Bmws strong side is not reliability. Its fun driving it sideways trough twisty roads and the way it delivers power. The reason why people buy german cars is that only germans and italians know how to build a true car that bring smile to your face.

@Vore667 So what if my Camaro isn't stock, if it could outhandle half of the new Euro-sports cars for WAY less money. I was actually referring to the Viper, but the ZR1 is also another good example of an American car that handles well. It's funny too. You guys bitch about American engines not being efficient, we make them efficient, you bitch about the cars not handling, we make them handle, now your bitching about the interior? Is that all you've got left? The freaking interior? lol!

@TrueWillz My English is good enough to know that "I" is capitalized, and that a verb is missing between "I" and "guessing" - But that's besides the point. You sure need a hug! So, all this ranting and bitching at my comment to finally come to an agreement with what I said in the first place, that's kinda weird, don't you think? Didn't I say in my initial response that Beemers are anything but smooth? And after all this whining, you tell me they aren't smooth, as if I didn't know.

@TheRealXesc if you understand english, then what are you refering to when replying, "try again champ". You should try to study or obtain some basic knowledge of cars. I guessing you don't why the BMW engine isn't as smooth? Well its due to the drive belt, BMW uses chain, rather than using Belt like Lexus. Chain is more reliable.

@GMisurdaddy You say that as if GM is the king of auto technology and that every company is BEGGING for GM parts and technology. Get real man, many, if not ALL car manufactures have partnerships and strategic alliances with other car manufacturers. Cool, german auto makers use GM technology, do you really think it doesn't go both ways? It does.

@GMisurdaddy A 528i s hardly the ultimate driving machine.. But needless to say the Bmw would be Loads more fun + faster on a track and around corners. And I doubt your ugly buick comes in a manual transmission. Congrats on beating someone in a straight line. Must have been hard holding that pedal to the floor. And quite frankly, yes ther are some bmws that I are for spoiled females, however there are some that are made to be driven like a man. You can't generalize a car company to that extent.

@discocreator76 By the way, how are german cars inferior to any american car? Compare a mercedes s class to any american car. Or 7 series, or A8, A6, A4, A7...bmw 5 or 3 series, ANY cars. German cars are BY FAR supersior to any american car in every single way, only americans who have been brainwashed by their commercials think otherwise. By the way, americans shouldnt be talking about cars anyway, since americans build currently the worst cars in the world, even korean ones are better.
