BMW E30 Gas Pedal Removal Guide - How to take out Throttle Pedal on a Classic BMW.
In this short video I share a guide on how to remove E30 throttle pedal. Removing the accelerator pedal from BMW E30 is quite simple, it's attached on an L-bracket welded to the car's floor pan beneath the carpet.
The L-shaped bracket pokes through the carpet and the gas pedal is mounted onto it via clips.
There are three tangs on the plastic gas pedal which need to be released while applying upwards pressure on the throttle pedal. Be careful not to break it because it's only made out of weak plastic and is probably around 30 years old at this point.
Release the tangs with a screwdriver, the one in the centre needs to be pushed away from you while the other two pryed towards you. With that, the throttle pedal should pop upwards and off.
Then simply remove the circlip from the throttle linkage at the top of the pedal and it slides right off.
I believe this guide also applies to other classic BMW models 3 series, 5 series and older.
BMW E21, BMW E28, BMW E34, BMW E12, BMW E32, BMW E36, BMW E12, 2002
