Cool Video. The plastic black centerpiece has rectangle notches that snap securely into the black screw-on cap. I take the centerpiece out of the old filter and I make sure it's snapped securely into the black screw-on cap. You will know the centerpiece is securely positioned in the cap when you hear it make a "click" sound. Again, cool video. I also have heard some auto repair shops don't know they are supposed to retain/re-use the black center plastic piece and they toss it out in the trash with the old filter. A good rule of thumb is always to do your homework before attempting a job!

I have a legitimate question? My dad's 2016 has that same door spot to drain the oil but.... it's like it's drain plug is on the side and last time we changed it the oil flow was not straight down but flowed out towards the passenger side and then it got all onto the plastic cover leaked down the spine of that plastic and caused oil to go everywhere. I guess my question is there a second plug we missed do you have a solution to keep the flow under control when draining the oil

you should open the engine oil cap and open/remove the filter while you're draining the oil to assure that the oil drained completely

You left out the 2006. The 2006, 325 I , 3.0 is in the bundle, "3.0 325i 328i 330i 325xi 328xi 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012".

Because the e9x was a holdover for the coupe and convertible in 2013, whereas the sedan and other configurations was the F3x in 2013. Not sure about 2012, but my '12 convertible is an e92.

I don't know why people take their bimmers to the shop for an oil change like 200$USD....
@Othermind972

well don't judge, if one day you'll have some issue with your engine it will be easy to ask BMW to pay the bill at 80% or fully participate. And for other reasons if you have a bimmer you normally can afford this price for oil change...

My local shop only charges $100 for an oil change. Includes topping off all fluids, complimentary inspection and a free car wash too. I’m 30 mins south of Seattle too so I’m not living in some hick town in the south with a low cost of living.

@@mahadragon a $100 for 5w30 synthetic is a steal 😳👌 , I never seen a price for a E90 oil change at that price anywhere
