I just did mine, all I can say is set aside at least 4 - 5hrs to get it done. And make sure you have ALL the right tools. It's not hard per se however you have to be very detailed and meticulous. LOTS and LOTS of bolts and trim grommets. You will need a magnetic capture tool because you WILL drop something in the engine bay. LOL Partly through it I had to ask myself was it worth doing it myself or paying $1K plus to have the dealer do it. When I pulled the plugs BMW did not gap them one bit. I assume the dealer would do the same. That is when I realized it is worth it to make sure its done right.
@DiscoWalrus

Don't be SCURRED! Just do it and be done with it. It's not that mechanically difficult. With no experience, you should be done in 5 hours with mistakes but if you've been turning wrenches, it can be done in 2 hours.

OK Just did it at 40K miles...Dealer did not do it under warranty even though I had 35K before the three years were up. Took me 4 hours ( I was very cautious and looked up torque specs and plug gap...etc. The plugs that came out were gapped at between .035 and .040...I guess there was some wear. Thank you for the tutorial, 2015 Tanzanite M3. OBTW I did put just a touch of silicone grease on the O-rings and grommets..made reassembly go smoother.
