I like that it takes away that ‘sounds like something is loose’ noise.

I'd like to add, if you do this, make sure you check those screws after your first ride to make sure they're tight, and probably a few subsequent rides after. I didn't and had one screw work it's way out and is on the side of the road somewhere and 6 others were really loose, I've had my bike a week. These screws retail for $7.50 each from BMW and I haven't found them locally yet. So when he's warning you not to over tighten them with the impact, it's just that so you don't strip them or oil can the ring. But make sure you go back over them with a socket wrench and do the ol' quarter turn past tight, I'm sure there's a torque spec out there for them.

hehe, i have that bike modell year 2016 witch is an Euro 3 version. DB killya can be easily removes simple by screwing shown in ths video. Sound improvement is really amazing. But later modells beyond 2016 are Euro 4 and 5 and DB-Killya is welded and hard to remove.

Very good tip. I'll try that on my R9T/719 times while I have to wait weeks for the Jekill&Hyde I ordered. Needless to say that this is not allowed (here in Germany), or is it allowed in America ...? Doesn't really matter, because the fun is faster than the police. Don't get caught. Greetings from Germany.

Great video and thank you for sharing this useful information. Can I ask you if you noticed any loss of performance after you removed the db killers?

I did not notice any loss of performance at all. Bike feels exactly the same, just sounds a little better. Thanks for watching!

I just found you, and this is very good information, I have a 2019 r nine T here in the US, I’m looking for a good exhaust but not sure which one to get, but this video is pretty helpful for now, I don’t like the idea of having to drill them out on newer versions. Also, do you have any good website for parts to these bikes, I want to change the rear lights. And do more stuff.

Hello, when you say drill them out on newer bikes, could you please clarify: Do you mean just use a frill to get the bolts out or do you mean literally drill out the bolts?

So the purpose of the DB Killer mod is strictly improving exhaust sound? I'm trying to understand what it even is...

Also - that is a super dope bike! Love that stitching on the seat. Sharp.
@SimpleCarGuy

Yes, it’s to improve exhaust sound. DB killers are basically baffles that decrease the bass and are an easy way to add some depth.

Yeah, looks like newer bikes have it welded in, you can drill it out, but that's a much more complicated mod then. At least you have a brand new bike! Congrats.

It’s a 2015 model, but I got it with a little over 1000 miles on it. On yours you’d have to drill them out, so I don’t know if it’s be worth it.
