This bike is on the short list as a replacement for my Yamaha FZ1. My only concern is the riding position. I'm getting along in years and I'm finding the FZ1 is starting to get a bit uncomfortable after a few hours in the saddle. The BMW appears to be a little less aggressive but I need to ride one to see. Thanks for the posting this review.

Got one about a little less than a year ago. Just took a trip to Florida from Pittsburgh and did an saddlesore 1000 for my trip home. Have nothing but praise for the new RS. I did however have to get riser bars for this 61 year old body! LOVE the engine and the handling. Everything about this bike says quality. I'm very pleased. Oh.....I also got a much larger windscreen (CalSci) for more weather protection.

No offense, but the rider seemed to be a very conservative rider who most likely has "chicken strip" tires on his personal bike... Next time, you might consider having a "sport rider" test a sport touring bike...

Hi there. Thanks for watching. We purposefully ask our test riders to ride at a slower speed so that we can get some great ride-by shots for our 4K camera. If the rider went "zooming" past the camera, the viewer wouldn't be able to see much. On our channel we do have a few bikes that we have test ridden on a track where we've told the riders to let 'er loose!

Not everybody rides at 'break neck' speeds. I'm 62 and considering this bike. I want comfort and reasonable weather protection. I could care less about it's 'sport' credentials. Different stokes for different folks.

If you wear a real helmet you don't have to eat bugs. Lol
