Finally, a front wheel R&R video that mentions the axle spacer! Big thanks

Thx a lot, it was just as simple as possible. Now with this video I feel more comfortable to do it myself. If you can make a video showing how to remove and replace a tyre, it would be great 👍🏻

I'd remove the wheel speed sensor to avoid damaging it when putting the wheel back on.

That’s a thought. However, I think the screw that holds the cable in place is on the inside.

Yes, I do that so a quick glance tells you if a bolt/nut is moving!

Useful, thanks, but some more elaboration about why you do certain things would be better. For example, why re-attach the calipers first before inserting the axle, and why do you use a marker.

so you're going to film another video to explain why you re-attach the calipers first before inserting the axle, and why you use a marker? smh

@@PacMoto thanks much! I did my first tire swap and forgot to check for spacers after pulling the wheel. Then when I went to put it back on and saw only one spacer..

how important is to suspend the brake calipers so that they dont just hang off the hose when you take off the front wheel? I know on a car that's a very big NO NO, but on a bike, the caliper is smaller and less heavy... I changed my tyres on my R1250 GS and the mechanic didn't bother suspending the calipers even though I told him he should do so.
@PacMoto

To be honest sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. Mostly depends on how long before I put the calipers back on. The calipers do not weigh much so there isn’t much stress. Thanks for the comment!

Good question! I mark them so I can quickly tell if any bolt is starting to loosen. You can get the marking pen at an auto parts store.

@@PacMoto Very clever. I’m definitely going to use that. In fact, I was just changing some highway pegs from a K1600 to a GS and realized half of them were loose snd one was missing. Would have been able to tell straight away while cleaning way before I lost a bolt using your trick. Thanks for coming back to me.
