What leads did you use to go from the DC power supply to the LiON battery?

That cable with small alligator clamps came along with power supply. I bet you could find them on Amazon or Allixpress

No I had to reboot I drive by holding volume button.

Hi, did you disconnect the auxiliary batter before charging the main battery? Does it matter? I’ve got my battery charging but just noticed I haven’t disconnected the auxiliary ground yet. Thanks for the tutorial!

If you charging your main battery which is located in the trunk you do not need to disconnect your auxiliary battery.

How did you get it to charge? I followed everything that you did but did not hear the safety switch click for the lithium battery to take the charge. Do you have to have both battery charging at the same time for it to work?

What charger are you using? You need to set at list 14.2 volts on your power supply in order to deactivate safety switch. Check your battery terminals with volt meter and make sure it’s showing 0Volts, because if it’s not and your battery showing voltage then you might have other problem. Go to your I drive manual in the car and search for software upgrade or something like that and it should tell you exactly what procedures need to take in order to finish update

@@DIYDime I’m using the same charger as yours and I had it set the same as you do. 14.7v and 2Amp. I have the X7 as well.

When you test the battery with a Voltmeter what does it show? 0V or 12-13.2v?

@@DIYDime it is showing 0v with the output button being off. Then it will show 15v with the output button being ON. But, safety switch isn’t disengaging so Battery isn’t taking the charge.

@@DIYDime how much charge did you put in you L ion battery? I know you said 13.2 V should be the minimum, did you go above 14v to get the software to update?

Yes, it worked for me, since my battery was low. Also too in your case it could be many things. You want to make sure both of your batteries good and fully charged. The following preconditions must have been met to be able to run a Remote Software Upgrade: • Gradient

@@DIYDimethese cars are so piss it’s amazing… my battery and many other people sit at 80%+ and the car should update…. When looking at errors the car says… preconditions aren’t met… only way is ista or bmw dealer to update it
