If you haven't already, I would recommend his 3 appearances on You Made it Weird with Pete Holmes. Each episode is around 2-3 hours long, I believe. He meshes very well with Pete Holmes and discuss everything from comedy to religion to determinism. I listen back to them from time to time and am forever amazed by his insights.

Also, I would add that I think the constant broadcast of a podcast isn't the kind of medium for him. He appears more as a perfectionist who prefers to disappear and slave away on 1 wonderful piece for a year or so and then pop back up. Unless it was more of a monthly podcast or a miniseries.

This is great. I taught my 8 year old daughter this and it changed her whole outtake in life. Her grades improved and her self esteem increased. I saw the light bulb turn on when I told her everyone, including me, thinks and feels the same way as you and you’re not the only one. I wish schools taught this because how can parents teach it if they were never taught either?

"a regular day to an eighth grader feels like life and death" this really had me thinking, in middle school, everything really did feel like that. adults usually dOn'T uNdErStAnD that, and i think that's the main thing that creates animosity between adults and kids. it sucks that at the most vulnerable part of your life you can feel like no one is doing anything to try to help and understand you even though they likely went through it themselves.
@brentos96
6 жыл бұрын
I've always tried to explain my anxiety this way. I had a boss who threw my concerns away when I tried to tell him that I'm extremely stressed and worried for my well-being. His response was "If you're stress now, just wait till you have kids" and completely dismissed my struggles like they aren't real problems. I believe that struggles people have is circumstantial and that person, and only that person is allowed to decide how big or small this experience is, and how they are going to take it. At the same time, I do believe that there are obviously struggles that do carry more weight like poverty, starvation, innocent lives being taken. I just hate it when someone tries to dismiss an experience like a teenager whose silently contemplating suicide because they don't think it's as important as their experiences, and their just "going through a stage of life"

I'm super excited because even though I'm far far past the end of 8th grade, the amount I see myself as the main character in the trailer means I'm in for a wild ride.

I love the fact that Elsie and Bo really seem to have connected through the shooting of the movie. You don't see that often with young actors or actresses who often seem out of place and frightened next to a movie director. I would have watched the movie because I liked Bo's previous work, but seeing the amount of thought he gave it and the amount of respect (and the lack of the usual dismissiveness we usually give children), really makes me wish July was closer so I could watch it immediately. Long story short, I can't wait to see it :)
