Thank you for this.... Could you please tell me what software did you use to show the mechanism of the Boa Lacing System ?

Wish they made a model of these that could be retrofitted to a boot.

This is a troubling video. It doesn't identify their alternative system which involves pulling the winder out to release, with no need to first unwind. Also, for this system to work, the tongue of the shoe needs to be designed asymmetrical, making putting the shoe on more cumbersome. Also, when the cord breaks, it's not a simple fix akin to a shoelace. A gimmick more than an innovation. As the old saying goes, "corporations of complication". The private sector complicates more than it innovates.

These BOA laces have been around for 20+ years, so it's definitely not a gimmick like you're claiming here. The inside of the cables have steel wires and have lifetimes warranties. If the cord breaks, you can easily get it replaced. You being unfamiliar with the product does not mean you're smarter than the people that use them - especially when you clearly have no clue how they actually function. I've known multiple people who've had theirs last for 3+ years - longer than most people keep work boots in general before the outsole starts collapsing
