Great collection. This is a really fun video. Love hearing which games you have strong feelings about: Santorini is the devil, Raccoon Tycoon is on the #$*! list. 😂Great stuff. And yes, you can call those games in that one section the "crap games."

Nice collection! I also have around 650 games. You do have a little space still available it looks like, as a few of your cubbies are occupied by a single or two displayed games. Love the shelves with the lights. I have a room with custom shelves but they don’t have the nice inner lights like yours. I have my games organized by box type, except for my roll and writes which are places together as a genre. When I look for a game I can remember what the box shape looks like and go from there. :) Thanks for the video :)

We've consolidated a lot of those shelves now! so we are pretty heavily out of room. We recently started removing any expansions boxes that are empty (if they fit in the base game) and started a new shelf in the cupboard just for those! which freed up a lot of room, but still not enough. I currently have piles of misplaced games on the floor. We're also talking about moving the RPG books into the hallway and then buying new shelves for the room to replace that one and possibly a display shelf outside of the room for some minis and favorite games! displaying is almost as expensive as the games! I'm hoping to do a new tour in December or so to show off the changes when they're complete!

Love it! How long have you had the Billy shelves? Any issues with support boards sagging? Did you assemble them as instructed or did you reinforce them in some ways? I guess many of the games stick out just a little since the shelf depth on Billy is 11 inches. Do you have anything bad to say about the Billy shelves? I'm currently searching for a storage solution and the Billy shelves are on my radar. Any comments would be appreciated!

This is awesome. This is how I see my future collection one day. So many games. I love Brass, Eldritch Horror, Nidavellir, Betrayal and both versions of the Villainous games. Do you take requests for game walkthroughs? I have this one game that is a little confusing to read from the instructions. It's a card game called "Grimslingers"
@nat20au3

We have Grimslingers! Grimslingers and it's art was actually done by the same artist that did the art for Burger Up! But I haven't actually played it yet 🙊 I'll add it to my "to play soon" pile and see what I can do 🥰

My problem with the billy shelves are the lack of depth. Hard to fit El Grande or pretty much anything by Mac Gerdts (with his crazy box sizes). I do very much like the corners and the ability to customize though. I generally have gone with shelves with an open back, since aesthetically I just can’t deal with overhanging boxes.
@nat20au3
3 жыл бұрын
We actually like the overhang! It makes the games pop out more and makes them super accessible. A lot fewer games than you would think, actually have overhang anyways. And those that do, it's usually such a small overhang that you can't even tell by just looking in.

Wow, cool collection. I like board games but I don't have nearly that much space for them. I probably have about 1/4th or 1/5th the board games space. Catan is my favorite group game to play with friends. Have you played a game called Armadora? It is small, but it is fun for 4 players. I like classic Stratego for a 2 player game.

The table is: LERHAMN in black-brown (118x74 cm) from IKEA. We don't use that one for gaming often to be honest! It does the job for smaller games. But, I don't suggest it if you like big games like Agricola, Everdell or Terraforming Mars.

We had a really awful experience where everyone was working towards similar goals and two of us actually ended up with the exact same end game objective card.. I don'[t know if it's a misprint in the big box or what, but multiple of the exact same objective card doesn't sit right with us. That said, Its a game I was incredibly excited for, so we will be playing it again, hopefully soon, before we decide to offload it!

@@nat20au3 Oh... that is something I can defintely see happening, which is why, I believe, I always took duplicated missions out leaving only one of each to randomly distribute among players. I had varied experiences with the game, but they were all pleasant. I had some longer drawn out games, and some really short ones. There have been some rule adjustments which I have yet to check if they are present in the new rulebook, but I remember that, in order to avoid a town rush strategy a rule stating that the game ends once 2 of three 3 are emptied (town, railroado or buildings) was created. All in all I think it's a great and very fun game, light but with some economic aspect and a little bit of interaction. Hope your next game works out better. On a side note: there is a instant win condition in the rules stating that if someone hits 1000 gold he wins instantly, this still bugs me as I have gotten nowhere near that amount. Also, congratulations on the game room. It's a sight to behold.

How big is your room? Because I will be fixing a game room in my new apartment, and I need to do some measurements of what I should go for.
@nat20au3
3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure of the exact dimensions, but it's a VERY large room. It's meant to be a "Media" room. believe it or not that whole back wall is a glass sliding door, so that kind of gives an idea of how large the room really is. However, before living in this place we did have the same set up, just smaller, in an apartment bedroom, so it's definitely do-able with limited space too! Take a look at the BILLY bookshelves on the IKEA website and measure the room you're considering, they have a really good room planner tool where you can input your measurements and then actually put the furniture you're considering into the model to check it out!

What a spectacular look at your games room! It’s good to see some of the companies that you support with your collection are ones who make attempts to be sustainable. It’s also wonderful to see someone who has a big collection of physical media rather than living in some awful little hole with just digital entertainment so they can live vicariously through some sad online presence. Whenever I have people over to play my games, I love seeing their faces when they are presented with the art, the pieces and the challenge of a chunky board game. The more the merrier!
