Only two words come to mind when I hear a South African accent. Diplomatic Immunity.

We do this all the time in South Africa. When I was in New Orleans they used to us a boat crane to gently put the boat in one of the tributeries of the Mississippi so we could go into the Gulf of Mexico. That was 1965/66.

Not too bad a place to launch, tryt Port St Johs and Port Alred. Skipper taking waves side on, not good and very dangerous.

There has to be a better launch location than this. Seems wreckless to me.

This is standard launching practice in S Africa on the coastline. We have few harbours. It is nothing to be phased about. Whats funny about this video is it is taken before the vehicle gets totally written off on the next boat it pushed in. It got stuck in the shorebreak and a wave turned it upside down .

The only word I can think of regarding that truck is RUST. It will rot every bit of exposed steel, and will find its way into bolt/nut threads to lock them solidly, then eat the sheet metal like cancer.

The vehicle doesnt have to worry about rust. The next boat it pushed in was its last . It got caught in the shorebreak and went upside down and was a right off.

@@eugeneeman7710, I think you mean "total loss." It's an insurance term. A "write"-off is a tax term, used to refer to something you can deduct from gross income to lower that and owe less to the IRS depending on the tax bracket. You would save like 10 to 35% of the total asset cost on taxes owed. Peace.

@@logmeindangit No . I live in S Africa and a write off means the vehicle is not worth fixing.
