1st punk rock show known to man. Always did what he wanted when he wanted.

I absolutely love this live version. Listen to those guitars cutting like a knife, and those drums with fills all over the place. Amazing.

Punk didn't start in 1976, it started in 1966 with Dylan's electric set.

A great clip. Too bad that back then the backup band members were unknown, and so, the cameraman didn't show us much of them. Would have loved to have seen more of Garth Hudson, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel ... Thank you so much for posting, Pete!

@@metislamestiza3708 I agree, there are several video clips from 1966 where you can recognize Rick and Robbie. Here not just a few seconds of Robbie, Rick a little more, they were so young and good looking.

Levon and the hawks help Bob change the course of history. Levon and the Hawks the tightest band then, hands down, If u saw them live Robbie was banging solos off the walls like tracer bulletts.

Although Bob loved the Hawks/Band, you gotta know he missed Bloomfield at times. An all around tastier player, ensconced in blues, and on his best studio tracks a lot of the time. His leads followed the song form, weren't the plinky searching leads of Robby, but deliberate and almost invisible against the song. Choosing a smaller amp to overdrive easier, whereas Robby had a cleaner sound with less sustain. Historic, nonetheless.

Levon had quit the tour at some point, because he couldn't handle all the booing and hostility from the audiences. I believe it was Mickey Jones who replaced him and was playing on the '66 tour in the UK.

@@petershaw5718 Never said it was...Levon's sound was much different than this drummer from some NYC band he picked up. or session dude from 61 album. He sucked....U dont hear a snare drop live.

@@user-qp4sy2dp5b Nothing wrong with Mickey Jones playing. He was a thundering beast who absolutely drove the sound, it's why they never sounded like this again. Levon couldn't play this stuff, great though he was.
