In 1972 my friend Keith Baugh invited Bob Marley and Johnny Nash to perform at Peckham Manor School where we were teaching. I’m at the back of the room in the photos and remember it well. Many thanks Keith! #intheroomwhereithappened

Love it. Keith Baugh was my O'Level art teacher at Peckham Manor in the early 80s. Good teacher. There were some really good community focused teachers at that school.

During this time he ( Bob ) also visited Alperton High School in Alperton Wembley with Johnny Nash and band to do an impromptu gig at the school summer fete. I wonder if that was recorded as well. I know that photos exist thanks to the local newspaper, The Wembley Observer. I remember the concert well as I was in attendance with my family and was a pupil at the time of Alperton High school.

unless there was a second visit to our school, i think that the year given to this article is incorrect, as I was there, but I didn't start at Peckham Manor until September 1974, they came during my first year, which ended in the summer of 1975, so they must have come between those two dates or perhaps there was a second visit
@sweetthang3061

No, the 1972 date is correct. You are mistaken.. Mr Baugh, who took the photos was also the person who invited Johnny Nash and Bob Marley along. I was at Peckham Manor at the time.

That's interesting my godfather managed them both, in the beginning of there careers and during their height. I wonder if he put the deal together. 🤷🏽♀️
