I hope i am not going to start a war there ,i have noticed since a few years one thing ,Bob Marley had a deep caribbean accent no doubt on that ,but did he had a typical black voice ? I hear something between James Brown and Joe Cocker when i listen with a little bit of Paul Simon maybe ,especially in Bob early debuts in the case of Paul Simon ?Is it me or isn't this a "non coloured voice?" ,if i listen to Peter Tosh i recognize a typical black man voice after maximum 5 seconds .... If i listen to Steel Pulse or Culture singers i can say that the singer is black after 2 seconds ,lol they can't lie ,lol if you feel like you want to say "no Louis Armstrong doesn't have a typical black voice ,he has a human voice ,he could have been chinese or english" just shut up man ,you are right but wrong ,Snoop Dog 's voice is something rare in the black community and extremely rare among the human beings .... Allah the Merciful ,King of kings ,Master of Power ,Wisdom and Clemence ,Eternal Light ,Perfectly Knew what He Did when He Created the little buoy Bob Marley, who had not too many options but fighting and singing ,and i am happy i have ears to hear that man with two voices in one body : a" black" voice and a "white" one . I often remember his beautifull smile on stage ,his perfect teeth when he was saying "JahJah" sometimes ,sharing with the audience..... If you want to learn how to sing you have here the perfect teacher trust me,and now you know why sometimes you hear something sounding a little bit like Bob Marley's voice with a single guitar and as you get closer ,a young white guy whith blue eyes ,little money and a big smile ,dreadlocks on his hear ,a dog at his feet ,let him a few cents if you can...

@@tuzniprorok8795 Your description is perfectly accurate ,perhaps my comment was useless too ....I have a crying A ringing in my head right now as i'm writing to you ,well i don't know if it is a A but it is his voice .... When i say useless it is because of all the tensions going on everywhere ,racism ,religion ,i was writting different comments on some videos about some situations we have here in France ,i'm a little bit sad man ,fascism is growing up in many places and was supposed to be destroyed ,it is just like a second birth .... I wanted to have some opinion from some black people ,as many white voices can sound black , i trust the black people as musicians ,logically ,i change my mind and respectfully keep marvelous Bob Marley's voice out of any race discussions ,even this kind ..... His dream was to see the human beings with good relationships ,what a beautifull world ......"There's a natural mystic "..... Thank you ...

He was 27-28 yrs old at the time of this recording. You can hear his timbre, resonance, trait, and quality when he skats. You can hear that he was experimenting with his voice and vocals with texture, quality quantity, balance, and taste. You can still hear his youthfulness in this recording By 75-78 his voice was primed - it matured like wine or ganjah! by 79-80 when he took the whole world.

Yes he had an amazing voice!! Bunny and Bob were no slouches either but he was 29 here and shortly thereafter he came with Word, Sound and Power and beginning with "Legalize it" released a series of legendary reggae records that have stood the test of time and haven't been overplayed like some reggae records.. Steppin razor!! Bless up!!

This is the Wailers at their best! In concert and on records they never gave less than 110%. Too bad Bunny wasn't there. Many people think The Wailers were discovered in the early 70's but the core group had been together and recording in Jamaica for almost 10 years by this time. They worked with Joe Higgs and Lee Perry in the 1960's. Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer were step brothers and know each from their youth in Kingston. There is an excellent interview with Bunny on KZitem where he fully explains his relationship with both Peter and Bob.

Viva aos Wailers. Viva a Bob Marley. Hoje tenho total certeza de que ele foi morto. Ele era verdadeiramente um revolucionário e suas músicas tanto falaram de conscientização, amor e libertação que as classes dominantes o silenciaram. Como, aliás, sempre acontece. Por seu exemplo eu digo: get up, stand up, don't give up the fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an awesome gig. I am too young to have been there but what wonderful sounds of Peter Tosh ~ Can't Blame the Youth ~ As they pull down the statues of Christopher Columbus, how very righteous he was back in the day! Seen the date, this tour didn't have Bunny. He was replaced by Joe Higgs and after 1973 the Wailers never toured together again. Bob and Peter had a physical fight and the following year both Peter and Bunny left the group
