I was all of six years old when this was going down, My grandparents lived about two streets away from the venue, a heap of relatives from all over NZ came & gathered at cousins houses as my grandfather thought they were all mad to leave home to see a band & was anti Ganja so didn't want them partying at his house, I stayed at my grandparents house that night as my Mother was at the show but still remember the excitement in the air before & well after the concert it made me a lifelong fan of Reggae & that will never change, almost to a person everyone i have met that was there that night says it was one of the best nights of their lives.

I was here on a beautiful summers days in Auckland. So many great concerts in Western Springs around this time but this one was truly special. Bob looked so wasted and yet made every note on time. As the concert got under way we were 30/40 feet back from the stage. When Bob hit the stage you could have got wasted just standing in the valley as everyone lite up. The show wasn’t long, perhaps 70 minutes but every song was perfect. One of the beautiful days in life with love and peace all around

I never tire of seeing this video!I shudder every time the music starts. It's easy to understand why Bob Marley is reggae beat in!Pay attention when he talks to the audience at the beginning of the show!pay attention to the tone of your voice? It is distinguished from all other singers of his time and today. Or their children have that timbre engaging. Each person has a different tone of voice from the other and it was something really unusual. This was one of her secrets! It was different, unique!
