The MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG I HAVE EVER HEARD! I first remember hearing it at 8 yrs. Old. I could only remember the first line...so I looked it up on you tube....I am now 73....❤❤❤❤😊😊😊it is lovely and PROFOUND....it brought me to tears. Man needs to go BACK to the simple things in life. Only therein lies our salvation!😢😢

Beautiful voice for sure. I remember Sesame Street growing up, 'Sing, Sing a Song', 'Good Morning Starshine', my first memories of the show. RIP Mr.McGrath, Gentle Soul🙏☮️🕊️❤️ Now I know Joyce Kilmer's legacy. You learn something new every day. Not just a rest stop on the NJ Turnpike. Thanks Bob! You made a difference in the lives of generations of children! Amazing!

Joyce Kilmer lived in New Brunswick, NY and his home was still standing when I went to HS there in 1966-1970. Bob did a beautiful job singing the poem set to music.

I sang this song in a park, before the start of an annual Easter egg hunt, while an another child drew a tree on a canvas while I sang. I was 8 years old. The words to this song made me fall in love with trees to this day. And I still remember the words.

Bob McGrath was a gentle soul, and a very nice man. He was just as kind as Fred Rogers. The greatest difference with people like him and many others is that they appreciate everyone for who they are, all encouragement, not a single bad thing to say about anyone ever. I don't know Bob McGrath personally, but I've always known that he's very appreciative of others and graceful about life. We really need kinder souls like him in this world.

I was an Artist when I was younger and loved to paint Trees as they are so different each one, when I first heard this song I started to cry and still do every time I hear this most beautiful song, the words are just so lovely.Bob McGrath sings it so well and you can understand every word as his words are so clear. and he puts so much feeling into the song.

Wonderful. It's amazing what Bob McGrath was doing before he joined Sesame Street, and how that show helped him evolve from an Irish tenor to another Misterrogers as he got closer to his fellow Streeters. Thanks for posting this rarely seen side of Bob!

Because my younger brother was a Sesame Street fanatic and my family, at the time, had only one television set, I saw alot of Bob and the Sesame Street characters throughout my childhood. I always thought he had a fine voice but... I do not recall Sesame Street unleashing Bob's talent as he does here. I am very impressed!! And others are right, they just don't write lyrics or sing them like this anymore......

SESSAME ST. Thanks! Didn't reconize him! My favorite programs, early 70, including ELECTRIC COMPANY. He tricked Maria into flexing her biceps. She did, before she knew it! It was HUGE. She laughed at herself. She must have cut sugar cane in Cuba! He sings this PAUL ROBESON style. Beautiful, didn't know he could do this! I was looking for the Doo Wop era song. Been looking for years!

Trees. By joyce kilmer. I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest against the earths. sweet flowing breast. A tree who looks at God all day. And lift her leafy arms to pray. A tree that may in summer wear. A nest of robins in her hair. Upon whose bosom snow has lain Who intimately lives with rain poems are made by fools like me but only God can make a tree. *bow*
