Wow and to think that in 87-88 his stats were: 1987-88 Detroit Red Wings NHL GP74 G29 A33 P62 +16 PIM398 same year in the playoffs 16Games, 8Goals, 13Assists, 21 Points and 51 PIM For a guy that was one of the best fighters ever, its a shame he did not show the skills he had for the game more. He probably could of scored 20 every year if he wanted to.

Rode shotgun for Yzeeman in the mid-late 80's and gave him more room to be the 60 goal-150 point player he was then. I so wish he would've been able to be a part of a Wings team that won the Cup.

Back in the 80s, I got to meet him and Harold Snepts. Total gas stations had Red Wings player glasses and if you bought gas, you got them. They were just sitting outside at a fold up table. My dad and I walked up and talked to them. I got my 2 glasses and an autograph, from each. The good ol days, for me.

I can't understand people who call him "skinny" and "lanky" etc. If that's the case, then the Stu Grimson of the early nineties could've been considered waiflike, yet he was still deadly at times!!!!!! In my book, Probie's build looked a whole lot better than the likes of Tony Twist, who looked fat in normal clothes. And compared to smaller players like Chris Chelios, I thought Probie looked like a big, hard, impenetrable wall of a man, myself. When you think about it, Probie was about the same height and weight as muhammad ali. I don't see how that's skinny!!!!!!
