Great song and video. I used to play it on the Juke Box at the 7 Seas in down town San Diego in 1969 right aft Boot Camp. Great memories from long ago.

According to B.Seger Jane Fonda was the inspiration for this song. This was telivised. She had to testify before some congressional committee members. If I remember correctly most of them were on the old side. When she walked in they all watched her as she walked to sit down. They didn't like her and her politics but they enjoyed watching her strut to her seat. Right now I can't remember why she had to go before them.

Saw him in Michigan at the Crows Nest. A hole in the wall bar. And when my buddy and I left, Heavy Music came on the radio! Thank you Bob. I hope you realize how many people you influenced. Tom Cruise owes you a lot of his fame.

Saw him at a local arena years ago and remember his sax player (Alto Reed...what a great name) flying by wire over the crowd while never missing a note while playing...amazing!

@@alanberent4428 I have a brother who is 5 years older than me so in 1971 I was listening to Mr. Seger at the age of 16. Saw him 3 times as the warmup band and twice as a headliner. Great performer.

My "Rockin' Robert" seems to be enjoying a renaissance! For newer listeners that can't put their finger on why his stuff sounds so killer, (as if): Bob was one of the last to hold on to that Hammond organ (Think Sly Stone) that the sixties stuff rocked with. I followed this cat since I was 14, hitch hiking the tri-state area of Michigan from 67 on ~ (Thanks Mom and Pop's...)

this album, gave seger his first bit of national exposure. than it was quite a while after rambling gambling man, for his career to really take off with live bullet and night moves. than after that, he became the huge superstar, he is today.
